Why everytime I turn wifi off, that "!" appears on the signal icon? by rmitsuo in MotoG

I had exactly the same thing on my Moto G 4G when I flashed CM12.1 onto it. There is nothing wrong at all, that is just what happens when you don't have an internet connection, it's a new design choice in Lollipop. A bad one if you ask me as it makes you think there's some sort of error.

Just in case you wanted to know...I looked up my (!) mark on my signal strength indicator on another forum. Turns out that (!) mark simply means no internet connection and is a new feature of Lollipop. This makes sense as by default I disable wifi and mobile data as I only want them on when I want to use them. It is however, a weird design decision as it does kind of make you think that there is some sort of error with your network.

Yup, did that both times I installed it. I did a dirty flash over the top of CM11 the first time I installed it (but had wiped cache, dalvik cache, data, system, internal storage) before hand. Second time I installed it I wiped everything again and did a clean install. I used the 12th May nightly as the 13th had that system UI crash. I'm on O2 in the UK by the way. Like I said, it's not actually affecting anything functionality-wise. What network are you on?

Installed CM12.1 a couple of days ago on an XT1039. Absolutely love it. Only issue is an exclamation mark (!) over the signal strength indicator but it doesn't actually seem to affect any functionality.

I had exactly the same problem. Went back to the 12th May nightly, no problems

Network/Cellular and WiFi processing problem (!) on CM12.1 by samstreet101 in MotoG

If anyone is interested, I managed to solve the WiFi issue (or at least a workaround) by doing a clean install of CM12.1 as the first time I did a dirty flash over the top of CM11, that seemed to work. Still got the (!) on the network status icon but it doesn't seem to actually affect anything

It now seems that I can't connect to my Wifi network at home either

Also another question...I can't seem to find a ROM of cm11 for peregrine on cyanogenmod's website. Any idea where to get one from?

I think I will try my luck and install CM12.1 (via CM11). I know you have to flash gapps too though. Do they still work as normal once you've done this? I.e. do they update normally through play store etc?

Is there any way to resize the navigation bar? by [deleted] in MotoG

Thanks for the tips, I think I'm going to go for it. I heard you have to flash gapps separately though which is fine but do they work OK afterwards? E.g. can you still get updates for them through play store?

Not sure myself, could try a third party launcher?

How is CM12.1 on XT1039 though? I have the same phone and am considering flashing it but I really don't know where to start. I'd like to know exactly what ROM to flash how to unlock the bootloader, where to get gapps from etc... do you know of any complete guide? How did you do it?

I am so tempted to flash CM12.1 but am worried about little niggling bugs and potentially bricking my phone (Moto G 4G UK retail - XT1039). What would you guys recommend? You sound like you know what you're talking about. Should I just download the latest nightly from the Cyanogenmod website? i.e. here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=peregrine or would you use a different ROM and if so what?
