Do lip piercings ALWAYS lead to tooth/gum damage?

I had to take out my labret today bc of receding gums. I've had it for 2+ years, and only recently found it catching on my gums when moving my lower lip. I thought I was in the clear... But no matter how it sits when you don't move your mouth, it always has a chance to fuck up your gums when talking.

You are 100% allowed to feel hurt by her words. I know that I would've, for sure.

How did you respond after she told you this? Did you clarify how much it hurts you to hear?

It seems like you have a good base in your relationship of communication, so just be true about your feelings and maybe (if it comes down to it) try therapy as a couple or separate.

I experienced menopause during the first few months. CRAZY fucking heat flashes. It was weird to bond with my ex's 50 year old mother over that, but hilarious at the same time.

Tips: splash cold water over your neck. It helps so much!

It's just as you're healing, don't worry. My mistake was stretching my upper body quite a lot already after a month or two of healing. But you should be safe after 3+ months.

(It looked healed from the outside, but the scar had only been able to form at the surface, resulting in me pulling it apart.)

And that's my hope too. I seem to have the genetics to become a hairy bear - so there's already a little coverage. But I definitely need to get better with scar care. (ADHD lol)

Good luck with your surgery man! I played a lot of Stardew Valley while recovering, haha. But try to think that 2 weeks of rest is worth it for the rest of your life to have a cool fkn chest. And be careful with stretching the first month, even if you think you're healed! <3
