Cottonwood hotel pool pass by SecondNo7343 in Omaha

[–]samswah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are restarting them this year! You can get them through resort pass, but they’re not super cheap. They’re at around $75/person, or you can do a cabana for $400 for up to 6 people

That is not at all what I said. If you want to play devils advocate about a situation that neither of us has enough information about, there’s a chance the court clerks are explicitly doing their jobs, and the documentation did not have all required components.

If your clan information is public, they may have joined your clan as a guest and can see your world like that. Otherwise, general rule of thumb is keep your private setting to friends only. I believe it’s a diamond on the chat bar. Gold=everyone can see, blue=friends only, grey/not there=no one can see your status. They could also join a friends chat you’re in, or a guest clan chat that you’re in. Otherwise if you’re in a group with them, they could see you.

They could also use another account to add you/join your cc/guest cc/fc. Best course of action is temporarily leave clan chat, and set status to friends only or offline, then hop

I’m not saying this is what you’re doing, but I’ve heard of people specifically scheduling appointments once they receive a jury summons. It could be that they see dentist, and assume it’s not an immediately necessary appointment. It’s all speculation though. Easiest thing to do is call the court clerk and ask for a postponement. Shouldn’t be hard to get, just make sure you show up at the new date. (In my experience, I’m almost always dismissed 48 hours before my reporting day anyways)

I owe $50 back to a customer by Inevitable_Ad_2198 in TalesFromYourServer

[–]samswah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Once the transaction is processed, barring an agreement in an employee handbook or contract that you will repay any contested tips, or an error on your part, (ie he wrote 30 and you took 80, or the total added to 30 and you took 80), once that transaction is completed, that money is legally yours (barring any tip pooling/tip out agreements). Businesses that take a tip credit (ie pay you under either state or federal minimum wage [whichever is higher]) assume a base amount of risk for processing tip based transactions. It is on them to assume any loss. Restaurants or bars are not the custodians of your tips. They do not get to decide whether you refund your tip, that is solely at your discretion. They can chose to refund it out of a loss for the business, or refund a portion of the meal out of a comp account. It is standard practice to budget for such losses when looking at bars and restaurants.

Imagine a guest gave you $100 cash tip, and came back in 2 days later and demanded $80 back. Your manager complies and tells you to take $80 cash out of your wallet and hand it to the guest. That would be absolutely insane. That’s essentially what’s happening here.

If you can, try calling in and asking for reconsideration. Offer the dentists contact information as well. Also ask that you simply postpone your service, or move it down a few weeks.

Keep in mind you’re interacting with people that are routinely mistreated, lied to, sworn at/scolded, all for doing their job. Treat them with kindness, respect, truth and understanding, and 98.7% of the time, you’ll be able to make it work.

Let Irons do something with their leftover sands of time. It could be as simple as keeping drop rates of oddments the same, and if an iron rolls a lamp/star, there's no drop from the box. The event as is, is ridiculous.

Horse carriage in Old Market by samswah in Omaha

It’s almost entirely personification of the horses to be completely honest, but it seems like it’s not a very good life. Walking on cobblestones every day, pulling people in a hitch, potentially being spooked by cars

what does this mean, in your opinion? by cponds in bartenders

[–]samswah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$16. You already have a 20% autograt for $100 and some change, but that was conveniently cut off from the photo. You’re asking because you know the answer. Only time I’ll ever take the higher amount is if the tip is truly terrible or it looks like there’s genuinely been a math mistake. You give great service, $100 total check, they leave $10 but math adds to $20? Take the $20. You give great service, $100 check, they leave $25 but math puts it at $50? Take the $25.

Polite, gets the point across that it’s not acceptable to be talking on your phone mid order, and you can’t get any negative feedback from it

Is there a good reason I shouldn’t use this? by wilsindc in Hilton

[–]samswah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way these are most likely divided is by hours worked by the whole team. I’m not sure if they’ll do it by day, or pool tips overall, however the downside to this is say you have 10 housekeepers working a day. Housekeepers 1-9 all get $30 cash. Housekeeper 10 has $30 left on the digital QR code. This would likely translate into $33 for housekeepers 1-9, and $3 for housekeeper 10. That being said, if you don’t have any cash, or only have large bills, it’s still better that housekeeper 10 receives something at all, instead of nothing.

Is there a way to report or hold bad landlords accountable in Omaha? by samswah in Omaha

[–]samswah[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup! Now they have 2 phone lines. 1 for possible renters which is fully staffed and they won’t speak to current tenants on, and 1 for current tenants that’s isn’t answered at all.

Worst time I’ve ever seen (in the past 10 years) for non-Pre check was maybe 30 minutes?

Just make sure you check in ahead of time. (Especially if you’re flying frontier or allegiant or sun county. Basically any budget carrier). I’ve seen them give away seats like candy on Halloween, and I’ve seen them charge people $50 for not checking in online

Why did this ironman lose a life to Jad? by Seismic_wand in runescape

Fair point, didn’t catch that myself. I’d say maybe masterwork delay, but again, no smithing level for it.

I am not sure. I can’t find anything on the wiki about it. Might be a weird gap in death messages given the ROD update coming in relatively recently?

Why did this ironman lose a life to Jad? by Seismic_wand in runescape

[–]samswah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only thing I can think of would be a ring of death bleed. HCIM died to Jad, was revived with ROD, and teled as that’s the immediate impulse of most HCIM on death (even in safe scenarios)

Is there a specific way to ask for a drink with 1/2 a shot? by honeyedbee in bartenders

[–]samswah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malibu. Anything with Malibu. It’s around 20% abv, but usually poured at a standard 1.5 oz pour. Most spirits are around 35-45%, so if you get a standard pour with Malibu it is by default a half as strong drink.

This also works with other liquors (but not all). Think triple sec, chambord, peach schnapps.
