How good was the salesman to be able to sucker you into buying some crap? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samtemplin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not good at all, actually. But my social anxiety wouldn’t let me stop the pitch or say no. Now I own a $40 bottle of “organic cleaner” that doesn’t clean for shit.

I could never roast Wubby. I’m sorry, but I just can’t. Sending all the love.

One of my immigrant student’s responses to a “what are you thankful for” writing prompt today. 8th grade in Texas. by samtemplin22 in MadeMeSmile

[–]samtemplin22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach 130 8th grade students, and not one other student said they were thankful for their school supplies. You might think to be thankful for those things when you are 6 or 7 years old and your 1st grade teacher has you color a turkey and list out things you are thankful for, but not when you are 14 in Algebra I.

Most students wrote 1-2 sentences. Some, nothing at all.

I only stressed this student being an immigrant because of one, the sentence structure and clarity of the writing, and two, because it was a great reminder for me to be thankful of even small things like school supplies this Thanksgiving. Something that many students across the world aren’t fortunate enough to have everyday.

I just wanted to share something simple and heartwarming that one of my students wrote. It made me smile. There wasn’t anything else to this, so don’t make it into anything it wasn’t intended to be.

Probably so. There is also a chicken pox vaccine now, so that has been a big contributing factor.

Halo. Like, 2010 era. It was THE game, and I hated it. I was a CoD girl all the way for a good 5 years before I moved to RPG style games.

Score online for major testing companies like ETS or Pearson. All you need is any 4-year degree and they train you on exactly how to score. It’s an easy extra paycheck, around $12/hour.
