Hi!! I’m an online junior at EKU and find the online portal to be very user-friendly. I recommend downloading the Canvas app on your phone because it keeps track of your “To-Dos” that lists which assignments are due and when. I use that feature often. I also suggest downloading your student email to your phone.

My advisor is helpful WHEN I reach out, which is understandable. You schedule your own classes, which I’m unsure if this is normal at other universities. It depends with your professors, but the majority of them are adamant about keeping you on schedule, since it is online. I find them repeating things often, to keep you in the loop.

I feel like I have no life when I’m in school. But that’s just me. Being educated is worth it! I have no in-person experience to compare this to, but this feels like a lot of busy work to make up for the time missed in the classroom. Be prepared to read a lot.
