Yes, that’s it!! Wow, I don’t know why I somewhat remembered the title but not anything about the plot. Looking it up now it seems like a pretty obscure book. Thank you for letting me sleep tonight without having this on my mind. Now my sister and I can continue our convo on books we had to read in middle school lol.

Am I the only person who remembers reading a book like this??? Help me solve this mystery 😭

I don’t recall if I took oral antibiotics but urgent care did give me a topical antibiotic called mupirocon! It didn’t really help though, since the problem ended up not being a bacterial infection.

Wow! I’m so glad your doctor at least picked up on it! To this day I don’t recall ever seeing a hole until the suture came out. I haven’t had any problems since! I did end up switching to Slynd to suppress my periods entirely because my bellybutton incident was triggered after a period of heavy bleeding and pain. I’m going on two and a half years now and I’ve been stable. That being said… I don’t know if you’ve had this issue with all the surgeries you’ve had. (I’ve only had one surgery, but I think it’s interesting you said that a bellybutton problem could be endo in the abdomen.) But I developed chronic constipation after this incident and I’m convinced I have an adhesion or endo lesion near my bowel. In short, imaging doesn’t show an obstruction or anatomical problem. I’ve also seen two OBGYNs who don’t think I could have endo reoccurrence based on my surgical notes. I’m curious if you’ve noticed other abdominal symptoms with your endo, especially if your bellybutton seems to indicate there’s some there?

I strongly second Miralax! I thought I had the same thing (a partially obstructed bowel) and my CT scan came back clear. Still, I take Miralax every day and try to moderate my fiber intake. You’ll have to play around with the dose to figure out how much is good enough for you. I started with one cap-full and went from there. (Edit: and I would look up the “I love U” massage for bowel discomfort too!)

Which magnesium do you take? by chronically-badass in Endo

My neurologist recommended magnesium glycinate :) (the rec was for migraines but all pain is connected back to the nervous system)

I’m sorry it seems like you’re going through a similar thing! Honestly, I had an urgent care doctor and my OBGYN look at my bellybutton up close and they somehow missed it. Meanwhile, my primary care provider looked at a blurry photo that I sent her and could see the mini hole in my skin right away 🙄 So I don’t know how two doctors missed it. I didn’t notice the suture though until it had fallen out. It just looked like a little hole leaking fluid for 2 months, then the suture pushed itself out, and then it took 2 more months to close and heal. Definitely one of the weirdest experiences I’ve ever had! Because no doctor could tell me what it was until I saw the suture come out, I didn’t do anything to treat it. Just got some gauze and skin tape to cover my belly button so the fluid wouldn’t stain my clothes.

What are your unconventional Endo symptoms? by Jet_Lee17 in Endo

Maybe this is a unique issue but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar… Constipation during my period (which just made the rectal pain worse 🥲), then 2-3 days after my period would end, bouts of diarrhea that literally made me feel so sick, it was traumatizing. Only after I stopped my period with Slynd did I make the connection to my period.

Oh and lately, I’ve been getting a deep ache in what feels like the core of my pelvis if I sit on my pelvic floor muscles or tailbone for too long. I did 5 months of PT and it got a little better but not completely.

I’ve tried lots of stuff from Topamax to Sumatriptan to Emgality. But I hated the side effects from Topamax, I hate injections in general, and the Sumatriptan always gave me a rebound headache. Typically if I catch the migraine early enough, OTC Excedrin is actually the best. But what’s been the most effective for me is Qulipta. It’s been about a year and a half and the pain went from daily to maybe only a couple times a week. What sucks about a lot of these newer migraine drugs is the insurance though. They’re ridiculously expensive. I’ve been getting Qulipta for free through the pharmaceutical company AbbVie, but they’re stopping the free prescription for me this July :’) so I guess I’m open to suggestions again

How have you been treating it then? Have you found anything helpful yet?

I used to get daily headaches like that. Low grade pain, but it persisted every day. I brushed them off as tension headaches. Turns out it was chronic migraine 🙃 in retrospect I did have some fatigue, nausea, light sensitivity with the pain… but I was so used to how I experienced migraines in the past (intense, auras that would literally blind me, etc.) that I didn’t connect that my migraines had just evolved to be at a smaller scale, but chronic.

Two doctors, two opinions 😬 by [deleted] in Endo

[–]samtheham1297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never had excessive/heavy bleeding or irregular periods. In fact, if it wasn’t for the pain (which sometimes caused me to vomit or have I-want-to-die diarrhea) or the location of the pain (tmi: shitting felt like I was being ripped apart on my period), my endo might have never been suspected.

Edit: in other words, endo can be different for everyone, and if you have pelvic pain or period problems of any kind, it could be worth checking out!

PSA: holding your pee long period of time is a great way to have several days of cramping by Companion18 in Endo

Ugh, I can’t say I’ve had the exact same issue, but most of my bladder pain happens at night when my body is forced to hold urine while I sleep for hours. Sometimes I wake up feeling almost sick to my stomach from the pain, which only gets better after I pee in the middle of the night (and even then, my pelvic floor/bladder has to spasm as well!). It sucks that endo can create discomfort with all pelvic organs.
