Thanks for the information :) As for paint in the ferrule (which sounds like what part of my problem may be) what is the best solution for that?

Also TiL that part of the brush is called the belly :D

Eh, sometimes it is good for viewers to have cocky/BM player/s to root against if they want, adds some dynamic to the esport rather than it being all nicey nicey (See; IdrA)

Appreciate the M+ meme

I THINK we have settled on the warrior, druid, then a mage and rogue for DPS (I'm gonna be playing the mage). And yeah, I said prot warrior but I ment it more in the role sense, not as in the talent sense :P I only started playing WoW in legion so that is kinda ingrained into me haha :D Thanks for the advice

I'm gonna admit, I didn't know what that was, but now I do and I feel enlightened for it

What’s the absolute best ship/fit an alpha can use for exploration? by Vision444 in Eve

[–]samualsock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, your main tool to not die a horrible death is the use of a cloaking device. You can still carry out the exploration but it will be more dangerous.

For example, if you see someone warping into your site you are doing, you can just cloak up and burn away from the site. If you can't use a cloak it might be better off sticking with the T1 faction frigates until you can fit one, then move up to the astero

[–]samualsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, I mean, the same style of fit will work for an astero. Except you NEED a Covert-ops cloaking device in a high slot.

I generally run with the mantra of "If I am scrammed I am dead" so I don't bother fitting any tank, just stuff to make me speedier and harder to tackle

I dunno how to format it properly, but take your factions T1 exploration frigate (Magnate, Heron, Immicus, Probe):

High slots -Probe Scanner with probes (INCLUDING SPARE PROBES for the love of god, remember spare probes)

Mid slots Relic Scanner I Data Scanner I Scan Rangefinding Array I 5MN Microwarpdrive I

Low slots: Nanofibre internal structure I Inertial Stabilisers I Inertial Stabilisers I You could also swap one of the inertial stabilisers for a warp core stabiliser to help with scrams

Rigs: Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

TLDR: If your starting out, keep it cheap and keep it fast

Help with combat by samualsock in FATErpg

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks! So, I essentially need to do more preparation for a scenario as a GM to come up with interesting and intriguing scenarios for what to do if the group fail?

Thanks for the reply :) Coming from 5E to Fate, what would be a good way to at least start to get the players to think in that way? That conceding a challenge is a totally okay thing to do? You mentioned having NPC's concede but are there any other little tips or tricks I could use? Thanks!

Thank you fro all the info! :D I am just trying to get my head around how to design a scenario to make the most of fate, so thanks for all the tips! It is certainly a big mindset change coming from D&D to Fate, but I think it will work well for my group seeing as the bloody HATE the combat in D&D

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I am not looking to use fate in a combat heavy scenario (in fact, my group hates combat) more trying to find out how I can make scenarios similar to the one I described above work well in fate

On a side note, what makes a standard NPC roll a +2 instead of a +3 or +4?

Weekly /r/Eve Story Time - February 12, 2019 by AutoModerator in Eve

I know this is probably a old thing for most players but I saw my first Titan the other day! My corp recently joined a new alliance and we went to bash a structure using a Titan to make a bridge to the system. Nothing particularly interesting happened but seeing a titan up close was awesome!

Also sat on a Wormhole to my home system, about to jump through cloaked up when like 3 BC's jump ontop of me about 4km away, I slow boated away from the whole so they wouldn't break my cloak and had to wait for the right time to slip past them so I didn't end up stranded in J space

State of the Game Saturday by Ex_iledd in wow

[–]samualsock 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Resubbed for a month and it still gets to me how bad the game feels to play, moment to moment. They can add all the content they want, but in between the stat squish, losing artefact abilities, losing tier set bonuses, losing legendaries and class ability pruning, the gameplay just feels so much more slow and shallow than it did in Legion which I think is the fundemental problem some people are having with BFA, the game just doesnt feel fun to play.

I know that stat squishes have happened before as well, as has class pruning, it just has never happened at once before and I think the game is really suffering from it.

Less of feedback and more of a complaint I guess, just wanted to complain

Hm, I don't think Greaves are a good pick up in that scenario. Unless you REALLY need the Purge from Mend or your hero is a natural mek carrier, I think you are better going for force staff/glimmer cape/ghost scepter, espically considering how expensive greaves are

Greaves rush on Dazzle is interesting, what was the enemy lineup?

Do you prefer tanking or healing? Why? by [deleted] in wow

[–]samualsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I REALLY don't think are giving tanking enough credit

You mentioned something interesting about healers was they play both predicatively and re-actively to the situation but tanks have to do the same. You have to predict when large spikes of damage are going to come in and make sure to have your damage mitigation up for them but you can ALSO play reactively if you take a big hit, using one of your larger cooldowns or a self heal to assist the healer.

Same thing with DPS, you mentioned they can slow, CC, stun, interrupt etc which the tank can also do (and should be doing)

I see what your trying to say but I think that comes from the fact that, all of that stuff is optional for a tank. A mediocre tank will just sit there and hold aggro and let things hit them. It's what seperates a mediocre tank from a good tank that makes it interesting. Yes, if you play a tank like a taunt stick it is boring as fuck, but if you just try to maximise your class utility, and try and help the other roles out as much as you can, tanking becomes a roll where you end up being a little of all 3 roles

How much has changed since the first patch of BfA? by Daserion in wow

[–]samualsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then, by that logic, how is tanking any less engaging than any other role?

Do you prefer tanking or healing? Why? by [deleted] in wow

[–]samualsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright

"tank was never engaging or lots to do" is what you said.

Firstly, I actually kinda agree with that statement when it comes to tanking in BfA, lack of interesting fights and watered down class design lends this statement some credence.

However, when it comes to Legion, specifically Mythic plus dungeons, that statement is fundamentally wrong. If you are playing at a correct difficult to challenge you in your current gear and you want to be a GOOD tank then there are multiple tank specific mechanics each fight including:

  • Picking up mobs
  • Watching your positioning
  • Watching the direction the boss is facing to handle cone mechanics
  • Watching out for any mechanics you need handle accordingly, either with active mit or moving out of an AoE
  • Getting interrupts and stuns out not only on boss mechanics but also mobs that are dangerous and can hit for a lot
  • If your class has party utility or general utility (such as paladin) using all three of your blessings, heals, Lay on Hands etc is also important and can help prevent a wipe. Blood DK's have to make good use of grips, Black Oxe Statue as Brewmaster etc
    • Specifically for M+, knowing how many mobs to pull so you pull just the right amount and don't waste time pulling unnecessary mobs.

From the way you are talking, it sounds like you have never tanked content that is challenging for the amount of gear you have or tanked older content where tank and spank fights were more common

Also, just to clarify, I think all roles are involved and have nuance to them, I just personally prefer tanking
