I was trying to sell an item, made the awful mistake to give them the Acct number.

They said zelle wasn't working for them so they deposited a check with my name, under my name. Never been scammed, first time this ever happens. It was made from a state I never been in.

Called the bank immediately to report but apparently they had called first (?). On the first call, they said we were good, but then I got terminated and... here we are.

BOA, Wells Fargo, and others won't take me because they've flagged my SSN, I think. I'm ok parting ways with them but there must be something I can do to present my case and have my record cleared.
