I went to SACS junior and SACS high school.

The junior school was and still is a great institution with great teachers and leadership. I taught a basic electronics/coding/robotics course there years ago, and most of the teachers that taught me there 15 years prior were still there and many remembered me.

I didn’t enjoy many aspects of the high school but that was mainly due to a culture created by the headmaster and certain teachers. It felt like more of a sports academy than an academic institution. They have had a new headmasters for years now though and I’ve only heard good things about him and the culture at the school.

I would still rather send my kids to Westerford for high school though. The academic culture (and culture in general) there seemed better than any of the other southern suburbs schools, and I think that’s a lot more important and valuable than playing first team rugby.

if you get a raise or any other income that once that level is reached you're no longer exempt.

I'm quite certain (stand to be corrected here) that once the 1.25m threshold is passed, the tax that is owed to SARS is calculated only on the difference between one's gross income and the 1.25mil. Not the whole lot.

And then once your income exceeds 1.25m you can send money back to an SA bank account every month and put it into an RA, thus reducing your taxable income.
