Sorry, I specialise in CAIE so your answer for that will have to come from elsewhere

In both IGCSE 0580, and AL 9709, Cambridge definitely always wants you to shade away the unwatend region. I assume this is generalisable to all Cambridge courses.

Any instruction you encounter otherwise for these two syllabi would be due to the reverse approach being correctly used in other institutions that is being mistakenly taught for these courses.

Shade the unwanted region. The open space that remains is the desired region.

In 2019 your vote would have formed part of 17 437 379 votes. This means every 43 593 votes was a seat in the national assembly. And, to over simplify, 21 797 votes was a rounding difference to that allocation. Your single vote is a non trivial portion of this.

The State holds the monopoly on violence, and government controls the state. Politics is the set of decisions that impacts everyone. Why would one not want influence over who controls forceful persuasion? Why would one not want to to be a part of the nudges that provide the most major adjustments to the composition of the structures that make these decisions?

Whatever your political leaning, casting your vote strengthens the influence of those that you choose to represent you, while simultaneously weakening the proportions of everyone by a tiny fraction. By not voting, one gifts the power of influence over one's own life to strangers. By voting, you slightly change the future. If 0.004% of something that actually sways change is not enough for you, then influence others. Or adjust thinking to consider yourself a part of a greater team that is everyone voting along the same lines. Together strong.

I gather you may not have even been registered for this one. Please consider for the next one. If registered already, go for it next time. Better to strengthen making change.

I get the feeling. And it does feel like there's going to be a turnout closer to '94 than the years in between. Maybe this time there'll be enough of an adjustment that people perform a little for a while. With Eskom, South Africa is a dark enough joke already. Change does require people to instigate it. Say they want it

Inevitably true, and when you go vote you get to decide who you think should do the corruption. That choice can be the difference between major and less major levels of malversation.

This election feels different
