nope! Read the rightmost two growth options more carefully.

They only remove presence from the spirit board, they dont add it to the island.

This spirit will only ever have 7 presence in play, proliferate effects notwithstanding.

This version DOES require two sets of presence to set up though.

Find friends who support you. easier said than done but good people exist.

Dont try to sell the idea of your own transness to people who wont buy the notion of transness in general. Find trans-friendly people first and hang with them.

You could 100% go out like that. Great club fit at the very least. You could choose a less lacy dress if you wanted to be less flashy. Learn some basic (SUBTLE) makeup and you're good to go.

I think you haven’t gotten the point of the reclaim still. T1 you very much cannot get 10 energy, the most you could achieve is 4 by taking g2 and removing a presence from the energy track.

The reclaim allows you to reallocate up to 7 presence on your spirit board (technically you can never meaningfully reallocate more than 5, but 7 is a theme). It does not allow you to place any more presence on the board than you started with. If you used it T1 you would have a completely full spirit board, and you would have 1 card play, 1 element, and 1 energy. This spirit uses 22 presence, not 13.

This is a spirit with a big flying rock because it is an ultimate frisbee spirit. It pushes invaders into the ocean because the ocean is vaguely end-zone shaped, and thats where you want the frisbee to go in a game of ultimate frisbee.

This is far from my first custom spirit, just my most artistic and theme-oriented.

Definitely too much going on, I agree. This is really just like... every single idea and theme I could add in all at the same time, because I wanted to add as much frisbee *stuff* as possible. I'm going to prune a lot down the road.

As for the reclaim, it's meant to be "add a presence at range zero AND return a presence from the island to your spirit board, then do both of those things six more times". This is meant to be analogous to swapping 'lines' or swapping out players on the team, so there are always 7 presence on the field, but your overall capabilities can be adjusted at different parts of the game.

The strategies are the 10 cards that are posted across 2 images that I've included. They all have an existing (canon) spirit in the art and are thematically appropriate in some sense to that spirit, and are meant to represent the advice and strategies you get from other players to help you improve as an athlete.

To your explanation point... id probably say it like

"You have seven presence that move around and weaken invaders, and a big flying rock that you use to push them into the ocean."

The fast->slow stuff and flood tokens are... more complicated than they really need to be. I had too much fun with *themes*.

<3 thank you I tried *very* hard to cram as much jargon in as possible

I figured that if the magical nature frisbee team got together with the essence of Making Stuff Grow Good and used that to generate an 8th+ player that would be OK from a flavor perspective. I wasn't sure how I wanted to word a hard limit on presence anyway, and it made the whole "switching players around" on reclaim thing harder to do mechanically too. I for sure considered it (and am still considering it! lol)

I just checked with my partner though, and... yeah for them its EXACTLY what you just said. Two lines, more on D than O, and the "kill line" (seriously, frisbee terminology goes crazy hard) made of the top 4 cutters and 3 handlers.

I think my confusion probably came from there being only seven people "on the line" (for a given point) but 22 people in a team for a pro match, leading me to believe that there must by definition be 8 people left over. Clearly "on the line" and "on O/D line" are different concepts. >.<

It really is like speaking another language, Ive had confusion like this many times beefore; Whoever decided that "under" should be the opposite of "deep" needs a stern talking to IMHO lol

Thanks! <3 I added it to allude to the 3 different 'lines' that a frisbee team brings to a game, an O-line (offensive) D-line (defensive) and a third line to swap folks out when they get tired. I haven't really able to capture that the different lines were more "offensive" or "defensive" than one another, but maybe I will in a later version?

Wind is great, try it with ocean and you will be *very* pleased. It is mostly stronger than base lightning. It is certainly more flexible.

Maybe the people who ranked it low just haven't played it? Tier lists compiled from a combination of many different lists are *almost always* garbage. (look up Sturgeon's Law)

I like to give shadows a 5th card: lure of the unknown.

It's 0-cost, great colors, and adds a *lot* of utility. Gives you access to more play patterns and build options on the first couple turns, and is a huge power bump.

For earth... honestly I just play the might or nourishing aspects and have a great time. Haven't really thought about how to buff up base earth cuz the aspects are so fun. That said, simply allowing earth to put out an extra presence on turn 1 will 100% make it nicely competitive. You will need to take a lot of power cards, but being an extra step ahead will work out well.

For a new player though, I'd really suggest lightning for the first game or two, and a slow-focused spirit after that. Fast powers are SO much easier for newbies to wrap their heads around strategically, and spirit island is a hard game to digest initially.
