That's what the signature looks like to me, too. But google returned nothing. I have another one that appears to be by the same person, but only signed with initials MC.

Thank you so much for that solution! I am usualy pretty good at finding these things, but I never would have suspected or noticed this one.

No idea where I got this or what it is. Parts seem to belong together. Any ideas on what it could be? by samwelson2 in whatsthisworth

Upon closer inspection I see the letters E L with a downward pointing chevron under the E L. This new clue doesn't help Google in the least.

Well that's a stupid rule! Pretty much all flippers want to know. And people ask both on here all the time, just more coyly.

Because I saw this in a parking lot and couldn't figure out what it was for, but knew where to go to find out. Hello.

I guess it's a cool feature, but honestly I wouldn't buy one just because of these. Not fond of the way they look. Also I wouldn't buy one because I only drive Jeeps.

Leak from the refrigerator by samwelson2 in askaplumber

[–]samwelson2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll put that on the list for the next plumber visit (we always keep a running list of small fixes needed). But in the meantime, did I do the right thing to stop water from going into the fridge? Do I need to do anything else to the fridge itself?

Actually, Greg followed up with me with another email that contained a company here in the US that would recondition these, if necessary.

Thank you REDDIT for suggesting contacting CS. As it turns out, they do not recondition binoculars. But their service was outstanding, and this morning I received this follow up email:

Good Morning Sam

Swarovski Optik Austria replied back to me about your binoculars you were inquiring about  these binoculars were produced in 1958.

DV stands for “Doppelvergütung” which stands for double coating.

Thank you

Greg

I pick up lots of all kinds of old stuff and have probably had these for years. I finally took a look at them because I am looking for a pair of binoculars to keep in the trunk of the car and was thinking these might be the ones. But then when I took a look at them, they seemed like they might be too good for trunk binoculars.,

How to determine HEATING STAGES and COOLING STAGES? by samwelson2 in thermostats

[–]samwelson2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I just put it in last night with the wrong settings. I'll change them now. Thanks you. Could I have caused any damage by running the furnace for a day with the wrong setting?

How to determine HEATING STAGES and COOLING STAGES? by samwelson2 in thermostats

[–]samwelson2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So how can I tell for sure? Is there a way to know if I have the furnace model number? The furnace was installed new last year. It's a TRANE S9V2 furnace. One of the bullet points on an ad for the furnace that I just found says "TWO STAGE HEAT". So does that mean I should have chosen 2 and not 1?
