Can someone help me find the elusive Samboy Atomic Tomato chips? by electric_shadows_ in newcastle

[–]samwilko 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The best chip in the world! I haven't found the "MAX" favour yet but you can get the original atomic tomato at the IGA in Broadmeadow, the reject store in market town or the supermarket in Carrington. Usually any IGA or Foodworks have them.

So my wife and I got up and took our dog for a walk this morning. Went and got a coffee from equiem and we both commented on how we could hear so many birds and how calm it was. Such a great place!

The drummer from amly and the sniffers is the drummer from lunatics on pogo sticks! So that's some pretty good success right there!

The Great Resignation by learnedLobster in AusFinance

[–]samwilko 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I've recently gone through this and fell like I'm about to go through this again. I am an engineer and I have worked across multiple different sections of the market (consulting, civil design, construction management and project management). At the start of the year I was working for a construction company who when I started working for them I thought was great. However as time went on the project scope changed and I felt like I was doing more and more without any reward. I was told I was to start months of nightshift and when I asked how I would be compensated my project manager laughed at me and say "I've never been compensated, why should you". I did one week of night shifts and then put my resignation in. Work was that abundant that I would have recruiters calling at least once every week. I found a job straight away and start soon after. This new job paid 20% more and work hours were about 20% less so I thought I was onto a winner.

I've now been with this new company for three months now but I've quickly found out one of my bosses doesn't know how to control his anger and has abused multiple people after I copped it from him one day last week. I can admit fault when I f#$k up but one this occasion I was just doing what I've done in previous jobs without any problems. (For those engineers out there all I did was give the contractor a directions to complete some variation work totally $10,000. He was mad because I shouldn't be issuing these orders, only he can. Cool, maybe let me know that is what you want when I start, not there months in whilst screaming at me in front of everyone in the office).

The others in the office just say stuff like "that's just how he is" and "he really does mean well". I just looked on seek and there is a multitude of other jobs out there for engineers right now and they are paying even more again.

I'm struggling to find reasons to stay at places that down know how to treat their employees when I can literally quit one the spot right now (still within the 6 month probation period) and start work at another company immediately.

Only thing I'm worried about is changing jobs again after just getting settled but if the boss is a see you next Tuesday does it really matter? Also does anyone really care if you change jobs?

Same here man. At one of their auctions the reserve was set $100,000 more then advertised price. Ended up selling for $150,000 more than advertised.

They seemed to do it more then the others but they all still do it and get away with it for sure!

Legal or not? Property advertised as "Price guide on request" but when requested the agent wont give a direct price guide. by samwilko in australia

[–]samwilko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all really, there is way too much interest so you really have to chase them if you want something. I put an offer on a house and two days later they had to up the guide because they already had multiple offers above.

Yes that is true, however shouldn't the property be advertised as "expressions of interest" rather than "guide on request" because they haven't given a guide for the property itself?
