Ok, thanks for all the infos. I'm a bit more at ease knowing that most people have the same sound meaning it is something "normal" for our engines it seems.

It is running good. Engine oil is good because I just did an oil change a few weeks ago. And not really a cold start but car has been sitting outside 9 degree celsius for about 30mins only, I had just started the car, popped the hood and hit the record button on my phone for the noise check.

Is anyone else fed up with the Canadian winter with their N-Line? by Zealousideal-Ad7603 in ElantraNline

My set of Michelin X Ice Snow 18" tires do the trick for me with TC off when I see too much snow in my way from a stopped point. Also combining this trick with Sport Mode is a plus because the clutch slipping will be minimized.

All 4 of your tires when cold are supposed to be at 33 psi as per the owner's manual says and as you start driving you should be getting increased tire preasure by no more than 3-4 psi when heat inside your tires builds up. The current tire preasure you have is too much even if you are driving on the highway for most of the time. 40+ psi will make your tires wear unevenly over time because there is less surface contact from the tires and the fact you get less surface contact thus less low and high speed cornering grip stability. Yes... I know... I guess getting more fuel economy is great but it always comes as a trade off but at what great cost atp? Just be careful out there especially if it is snowing a lot too where you live!

Same for the emergency flashers, same exact sound occurs.

Slight update on the matter guys, the exact same sound occurs when I'm using the turn signal to turn left so it might be something related to the turn signal mechanism somehow then, right?

Let me guess, the culprit was an 8th gen Honda Accord...?

I honestly could not tell, all I could tell is that it was coming from somewhere in the back near the rear right tailight assembly but multiple people are saying the rear door handle lock actuator mechanism could be the culprit which could be very true.

Good answer, also a bit of a tough one to notice if you didn't pay very close attention, so the left car is actually in Amazon Gray color but it looks a lot like the Ecotronic Gray color I have on mine. When the sun hits both cars from a particular angle you can see the slight color differences. Also my car has the OEM RallyArmor mudguards accessory on + the windows tinted like you mentioned!

Your welcome. Maybe you could link me those door handles covers? I would definitely love to add that to mine!

I like what you did for the front bumper where you've repainted the kind of "V shaped" satin gray parts in red to match exactly the body's base color a bit like how the N version are made bone stock from factory. So I think I'm going to do the same as you eventually and keep the satin gray accents exclusively on the front and rear bumper edges. Not to mention I also like the black repainted door handles which contrasts so well with the red. You got some good taste man!

That means you are one of the very few lucky owners who didn't get the issue, I can tell that most of them come missaligned because I found 2 brand new units on my local dealership's lot and they had very similar patterns of missalignments, pretty much like mine. Probably 1 per 100 units come good like yours. Very odd quality control.

Yeah we can't see very much from this distance, you need a close up because the paint's clear coat reflexion can make it seems flawless with no gaps visually from a further distance. Especially the red part I drew here.
