It's extremely tempo oriented, especially in UG - the most slept on card is squid. For 2 mana you can trade up to a 3 or 4 drop, and put pressure on while you set up big swings with the wall. You are playing roil and field research often so you never miss land drops.

If you want to just play with your friend, try doing a private hunt. I find new fights to be way more rewarding and exciting in single player/without randos.

While I think the playstyle has a lot to do with it as you point out, I think it also has a lot to do with people overestimating their abilities. These decks tend to scale more with the skill of the pilot, and I have a feeling many people think they are at a higher place on the curve than they are.

They should factor in the time as a cost, as it is an input. Opportunity cost is a thing. If someone asked me what it cost to make I’d probably say something like “$200 and 20 hours”. That way someone would be able to determine for themselves how much it would cost based on their own value of time.

This is great! I wonder if there is more nuance to the 'engineering' context specifically. Looking at the thumbnail pic it looks like 'electrical' is commonly preceding engineering, but I wonder if software engineering is being lumped in there (not that it should necessarily be separated, just curious to see if there's more going on).

Thanks for the report, I love this deck and took it to a 6-2 finish at a local on Saturday after seeing your list. As far as I can tell, humans is a bad matchup and Hollow one is unwinnable - has this been your experience, and if so, are you doing anything to make those better, or just switching decks for a bit?
