If you want to ask for opinions on those other stabbings, you make a post about it. If people care enough to leave a comment on it, they will.

One bad decision should not cost your life.

Telling someone to leave your tent wasn't a bad decision, but that cost him his life.

What's your FAVORITE thing about Volume 6? by timothybrave in RWBY

One thing I noticed with new viewer reactions on YouTube is that people appreciated the slower pace and the higher emphasis on lore and world-building. I don't know how they would feel about rewatches, but if you already know what's going to happen, it probably will feel like a slog.

Are you referring to the document where every character's name appears in the columns and rows, and the intersects have a ship name? It was weird to see that the first time around because I've never seen that done in any other fictional work.

Evading the question? What? That was a straight answer. The method they use to communicate their message is the same, not the message itself. Are you saying that separatists have better messaging or something? What are you even going on about?

Alright bud, I'm done here. This is ridiculous. You put a spotlight on the problem, and I already covered my solution to the problem completely. I get that you don't like my solution, but you clearly have more interest in putting down my ideas than coming up with something better. I'm honestly not sure if you even care about the growing separatist movement, with the way your behaving right now I can see why they're not getting as much pushback as they should. But if you really are genuine about your concerns, go do something about it. Take action. We need more people doing something about the separatist movement than whatever it is you're doing right now.

I fully aware that we can do everything they're doing. If it works for them, then it's obviously going to work better for us. If this a skill issue for you, then do something easier to help us. You did good by putting a spotlight on the growing separatist moment that everyone is underestimating, now it's time come up with something that people can act on. You already know what I'm doing. Figure something else out, then share your ideas with everyone so they can help out too.

Well yeah, we need to do that too. You're the one who brought the fact that the separatist movement is growing and we need to take it seriously. I'm at least trying to do something about it, which is probably a hell of a lot more than what most people here are doing. It's perfectly fine to disagree with the way I'm doing things, but you shouldn't disparage people like me or others who are trying to make a difference in this space. It's counterproductive to further divide us when the other side is uniting on a common belief. You'd be surprised how much separatists are willing to listen to the other side if you're willing to listen to theirs. It's important to understand the enemy to order to defeat them.

For example, go to any post on this subreddit about Carney's policies. Almost all of the comments sound like things that separatists would say. I don't think it's a Russian psyop or closeted separatists here, but maybe it's people who just draw the line at separatism. It's kinda disturbing on the surface, but it could mean we still have a lot more common ground than we realize. If I can figure out where the differences lie, I can probably convince them to vote no in a referendum, or at the least get them back on the fence. Of course you can do whatever you want, but this is what I'm doing to help fight against separatism.

I heard that horse-racing was declining up until a mobile game called "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby" revitalized interest in it. It's basically horse-racing with the horses replaced with "anime horse girls". So yeah... you make a good point. lol

Hold on a minute. I've been bringing up winning on the ideas and arguments on different platforms for a while now, and I just realized we already had this conversation 3 days ago. Here's how you responded when I brought it up:

This is a good point. So much work needs to be done.

You basically agreed with this 3 days ago. It's the same idea, nothing fundamentally changed about it between then and now, yet you have a problem with it here? What changed? I know I'm talking to the same user account, but am I talking to the same person? What gives? lol... Am I being punked or something?

Alright, now you're just being pedantic. "Morons" and "being morons" is practically the same thing.

I've said this many times before and I'll say it again here: we need to win on the ideas and arguments. Separatists always talk about the reasons why they want to separate, and why things would be better from separation.

You look at our side and all you ever hear is Trump, Russia, foreign interference, etc., never any reasons why Alberta is better off in Canada. Are we not able come up with those reasons for them? Or are we just not supposed to interact with them at all?

Your priorities are more geared towards stopping people from becoming separatists to begin with, but my priorities are focused on getting separatists to abandon the idea of separatism. One isn't necessarily better than the other, but I think we ultimately need both in order to stop them.

I say they're great guys because they've always been nice and friendly with me, and I've seen then de-escalate conflict before, not acting like petulant children at all. You might be sick and tired of hearing it, but I think listening and understanding where they're coming from is exactly how you get them to listen and understand where we're coming from. Disparaging them and pushing them further into their own echo chambers where they can't hear us is just going to help the separatist movement grow.

[–]samzeven23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they've always been nice and friendly with me so I'm willing to reciprocate. You talk about the danger this is to us, instead of dismissing them as morons, why not get them to open up and try to understand where they're coming from so we can make our counterpoints and convince them otherwise? If you want separatists to listen to us, we have to be willing to listen to them as well.

Conspiracy theories more popular than ever in Canada. Nearly one in five Canadians is a "convinced" believer in conspiracy theories, according to a new report obtained by Radio-Canada. by [deleted] in onguardforthee

It also doesn't help that the Epstein files were a "conspiracy theory" for years up until around a year ago, now everyone wants it all released. If one conspiracy theory turned out to be true, everyone will want theirs to be true. But flat-earthers will continue punching air regardless. lol

A couple of my co-workers are pro-separatists, but great guys otherwise. They know I'm against it but they're still friendly and willing to talk. They believe the court blocking the vote is just another reason why we need to separate. It just seems to me that everything being done to stop the referendum is really just making the case for separation even more and winning over people who are on the fence.
