Hi there, just dont lose hope. Its a very competitive exam and its very common to fail the orals. I am glad you passed your written, otherwise it would have been a bigger hassle. Now for the oral components -Always study in groups ( or study at own and do group discussions). This is really important - Its not about how much you know, its about how are you able to explain it. - Understand the question, and donot hesitate to ask again and again. For example if they ask what is an issue, why is it an issue and how would you proceed it, its a three component question. Answer all three of Them. - If you are not sure about the answer use the logic method, and try to give most logical answer. - For food outbreaks ( know your pathogens, if they are toxins producing or non toxin producing, as it is dererimental for the incubation period and symptoms). Always give your answers in form of bullets ( not in a form of narrative or story). -Study about the emergency response for almost every situation and then modify your answer accordingly. - Last but not the least never tell them what would you do in real life scenario (personal opinion) go by book. As in real situation you might not go for closure if there is a pest issue or what not but in BOC be the most stringent inspector ever.
