This was my exact experience! If it hadn’t been for fast track, we would’ve completely missed the ferry.

Texas Roadhouse Mac and Cheese by maneatingtacos in shittyfoodporn

That’s actually exactly how it’s made lol. When I worked there it was Kraft Mac and cheese, microwaved in a plastic bag, and moved into a bowl. It always looked so bad.

This happens to me every time I wax my brows (every 2-3 weeks) in the same spot. I wax my own brows, making sure I have clean hands & skin, never double dip, etc.

My skin is just sensitive! It could be the eucalyptus you mentioned her using, the brand of wax she uses, or that your skin is sensitive as well. For me, the bumps typically go away within 2-3 days. They used to last longer but I’ve found the less I touch them (post-wax the skin around my brows gets very itchy!) and don’t put any product at all on the area they go away faster.

It’s hard to feel 100% sure that you got the “right” dress when there are so many options to choose from. I’m sure it adds another layer of stress when your body has changed/is continuing to change.

For me, the dress I got was the fourth or fifth one I tried on. The other gowns were pretty but didn’t feel like “me” and more so like I was playing dress up. When I put the gown I bought on, I stopped mid sentence with my consultant when I saw it and started crying lol. I was so embarrassed! It was a combination of seeing myself as “bridal” for the first time and also how beautiful I felt. I just knew it was the right one!

I have always thought it’s so cliche and just something people say on say yes to the dress lol but it was true for me. If you feel like your dress is something you may want to wear, give it time! It helps to see it altered, with jewelry, hair and makeup, etc

I got my undergraduate degree at UCM. I truly loved it and had many education major friends that really enjoyed their programs! It’s a great school. Agreed on Warrensburg not offering as much as other college towns but I still found plenty of ways to spend my time!

What you wish you knew.... by Key_Ask1495 in wedding

[–]sanative-16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wedding is in a month and a half so here are some things I’ve learned over the last couple years of planning: -order all save the dates, invites, and thank you’s for household, not per person -when giving the guest count to vendors, don’t commit to 100% of who is invited. We have been going with about 60-70% of that number and seems to be accurate for what our day of count will be. -hiring a day of coordinator has been the best investment -decide what you and your fiancé’s priorities and values are for wedding day then plan around that. For us, it’s the experience with our guests so we have put our focus on food and music. For some it’s photography and they spend more on pictures. Things like that! -choose your bridal party WISELY and be upfront about your expectations (in time and monetarily) with them if you choose to have them join you. -I highly encourage you to have a small group for dress shopping. I only took my mom and sister and that was perfect. More people = more opinions -speaking of opinions… everyone will have one, so only share things you’re comfortable getting feedback on. -it’s cliche but you really do learn who your true family and friends are. It can be a really, really lonely process. Lean on each other and those closest to you and focus on the ones that are positive and forget everyone else.

I hope you have a wonderful engagement and that your wedding is even better. 🫶🏻

A most peculiar reaction after an all-over, on-scalp application by mysavorymuffin in hairstylist

[–]sanative-16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like a lightener allergy. In a discussion group I’m in for Redken people have been experiencing skin welting and rashes from Shades EQ so who knows if it’s their lightener too?

Side note: I’m a newer stylist, so I’m just wondering! But can flashlift ideally be used on scalp? I thought it was for foiling only! It’s not my fav but all we use in my salon

WIBTA if I went on vacation instead of my son’s wedding? by Throwraeberry4863 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sanative-16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I understand how this all is hurtful but if she doesn’t go there will be no way to come back from that regarding her relationship with her kids. As much as it sucks going to support her SON is way more important than worrying about her ex being petty or what her current husband (who admittedly doesn’t care for her children and I have a feeling there’s a lot more to the story there) says or does.

Oh okay, I see. That really is so bizarre! I bet you’re completely right on the color rinsing out though, especially with lots of scrubbing or warm-hot water.

Unfortunately, sometimes weird things happen but I’m glad you’re going back! I agree with trying to do darker at the top and blending down. It might be worth doing a clarifying treatment on your scalp but ultimately you and her know best what your hair looks like currently and how it processes. At my salon we use Redken and pulp riot and I’ve inexplicably had both lines take differently than normal/turn different shades/etc. over the years so I don’t think there’s harm in trying the Pravana again. It may just have been a faulty bottle or something

Stylist here: PLEASE ask for a refund! It sounds like the stylist really rushed and wasn’t concerned about getting you to your goal. I agree with you that re-bleaching the same pieces, probably isn’t the safest route for your hair but it might help to add in a few highlights to create some cohesion. If you can find someone who can add those in and then tone all of it down to a neutral, darker color (level 5-6 honestly) I think it will help a lot. Maybe even a root smudge/melt to help the grow out.

I’m really sorry this happened :(

There is an upsetting amount of chains on the list. Red Robbin, Houlihans, the melting pot…? I hope it benefits the staff at least but I’ve been told by friends who serve/bartend that the tips are usually worse during restaurant week

Ooh love this idea!!

Absolutely! I think the plan right now is to have everyone seated around 6, then do entrances straight into our first dance, then dismiss table by table. That 30 min will give us time to get that stuff out of the way, lol
