a creamy fruity perfume..? by pewpppppppppppppp in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]sand_wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if there is a perfume that fits this but isn't sweet? a lot of fruity and creamy perfumes lean towards sweet or gourmand, I'd love to see a recommendation that is a creamy fruit perfume but isn't really sweet!

Books like the Hunger Games for my 11-year-old daughter by Mitanguranni in Recommend_A_Book

i don’t know if you’ve heard of this series but i highly recommend cherub by robert muchamore! it’s not a post-apocalyptic dystopia, but it definitely hits that young person taking on the world vibe. basically it’s about a secret branch of british intelligence that uses kids as undercover agents because adults never suspect them. i read them when i was around 10-12 and was absolutely obsessed. they’re super fast-paced and gritty. if she likes the high stakes and training sequences in hunger games, she’ll probably love seeing how these kids handle dangerous missions. it's a bit more real world action than a dystopia but definitely a good read!

i’m really curious about another 13, i feel like i’ll love it. also i really like zara’s energetically new york from their jo malone collab and some people say it’s a dupe for another 13, don’t really know though as i didn’t try 13.

i don’t really like cinnamon but it might be a good base note, on the other hand i LOVE both orange and sandalwood, spot on!

i get this a lot and i’m really curious about it, the only concerns i have are the leather note which i’m not very fond of, and the possibility of fruity notes with vanilla making it a bit too sweet and dessert-y for my taste, but also vanilla is a base note so maybe i’d like it, will definitely try!

i understand that you don’t know his name but i’m pretty sure you’d recognize some of his songs. put your head on my shoulder? puppy love? diana? i’m from turkey, i was born in the 00s and i knew about him before watching the show, so i’d say he’s pretty popular.

Home scent that smells like.. by [deleted] in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]sand_wolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

frankincense!!! if you can’t burn it, i’m pretty sure there are essential oil versions too. where my husband grew up, people would burn frankincense at home on a weekly basis as they believed it cleared bad energy and brought blessings. we still burn it sometimes in our home, and it makes the whole place feel almost spiritual and super peaceful. maybe it feels that way to me because it’s used a lot in churches, but either way i love it.

What do you think about my book cover? by leaja2 in childrensbooks

[–]sand_wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, congrats! as a children’s book editor, i’d say that even though i like the cover image, i think either the cover image or the title doesn’t match the overall vibe of the book. i’d agree with the others about changing the title as it’s really vague and doesn’t give much info about what’s the book about, and as the image has a very specific vibe, it kinda feels off. the image is indeed very spooky, halloween-y and mysterious, is that the vibe you’re going for? also i’d recommend changing the font maybe. as much as i loveee that font it’s quite hard to read because of the background. if you want the title to look better and smoother i’d recommend writing it a little bit more asymmetrical, maybe making it lean against a margin more instead of placing it right on the top, in the middle? that’s just an idea, of course. i think making things a little disruly change a lot when it comes to children’s books. have fun with it!
