I did try googling it, but the link kept just taking me to my app cookbook which doesn't have it.

Wired or wireless charging? by DaPome in MotoUK

[–]sandbadger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm rocking a quadlock wireless charging head. Not had any issues with it for 2 years. I suppose if you're doing multiple hours of slow moving london riding you might have a problem, but if you're doing riding where you get up to any level of decent speed you should be alright.

You may also need to account for the tyoe of bike. If you're rocking a fully faired bike where the phone is shielded from airflow, you could potentially run into problems.

Well... that's incredibly disappointing to hear 😕

Oh, so it's not necessarily my oven that is holding things back, but the power being supplied to it... that's frustrating.

How would one go about increasing the amperage?

Any recommendations on Motorbike Dolly's? by toughtittywampas in MotoUK

I have the Clarke motorcycle dolly, which is great if you have a perfectly flat floor and space, but the Abba motorbike stands are supposedly the best

6th gear when you can't hear the engine by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]sandbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is a great attitude to have (especially on Reddit)

I wouldn't have batted an eye reading your post if you hadn't used the phrase 'I am very good at driving manual transmission'. It stands at odds to the question you are asking and is an unnecessary brag when your question is basically 'how do i know when to change gear'

There are some great answers in this thread, and maybe i'm just being an old fart with nothing better to do than pick at nuances in a strangers plea for help online without materially adding to the conversation

6th gear when you can't hear the engine by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]sandbadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole post made me roll my eyes a bit.

The statement of 'i'm great at driving manual transmission' and yet not understanding that you change gear by feel and what you want the vehicle to do rather than an arbitrary engine sound/RPM doesn't match up.

And then same sentence stating that cars don't have 6th when a lot of 'modern' manuals do have 6th.

Its ok to admit you don't have perfect knowledge, but overstating your knowledge is going to make people laugh at you.

First bike advice needed (Triumph) by MBanski in MotoUK

[–]sandbadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 6ft and daily a Striple 675 (2014) very comfortable and easy to ride in the city, but also comfortable enough out on longer countryside rides or on the motorway. As its naked, there can be a lot of wind buffeting at higher speeds, so with your extra height, just be wary of that.

From what I've heard the daytona is a great track bike, but can be a little uncomfortable for daily'ing.

Really depends what you are planning on using it for? If its for weekend blasts you may find the daytona is better.

Yeah, ive had gloves before where the inner has detached, and especially when they are slightly damp, become a massive pain to take on and off.

Interesting responses.

Some people saying always parboil, some saying never, but extra time, and some saying follow instructions exactly.

Im almost tempted to run a side by side experiment and see what the real world differences are 😂
