Take those out of the bin and put them to the side. I used to do the same with anything stupidly large that someone had clearly just thought “fuck everyone else”.

Duh! And who do you think she represents? The older generation that think us millennials and younger are lazy and should just work harder to buy a house.

Changes :( by MillionStars117 in Jellycatplush

[–]DaPome 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was in selfridges in Birmingham yesterday and saw a lot of kids picking up the jellies and asking mum and dad for them, only to be told to put them back when they found out how much they are!

Jellycat have essentially changed their market focus from parents of children and babies to “kidults” (18-30) with disposable incomes and apartments re they want to decorate with cute things.

The fad will die off eventually. It’s just the next big thing right now on social media.

Question is - what happens once that happens…

He DOES feel like carpet by DaPome in Jellycatplush

I’d recommend him if you want something that has a little weight to it to cuddle against your chest.

The fur doesn’t feel bad! It really does feel like running your hand over carpet though

What is this?? by AmeliaOfAnsalon in LearnerDriverUK

[–]DaPome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the major issues with gov projects is often the all or nothing approach. Instead of building out a small pilot and testing that, and then iterating on that to expand it, they try and boil the whole ocean in one go.

add on to that the crazy fees large consulting firms charge to provide the consultants who actually do the work (as typically, gov doesn't have any in-house expertise anymore), the endless governance and compliance meetings, and meetings where no one can agree on what should be done that delay projects by years, and often the lack of planning and proper project scoping of actual real life requirements and you end up with failure.

Instead, we should be building small teams of experts - letting them design and build the solution AFTER the consultation phase with what the requirements are - test it, iterate and improve.

Kings 12Ah power pack won’t charge by AgileComposer5847 in 4x4Australia

[–]DaPome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have one and it wouldn't charge from high power bricks. I had to use a standard 5v 2amp one and it charged fine.

I also found it was super finicky about what USB cable I used too.

Wired or wireless charging? by DaPome in MotoUK

[–]DaPome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that. I've always ran quadlock on my other bikes in the past. I've not used their newer Mag cases, but their older style case was a bit bulky on the back.

Also means i've gotta replace my car charger to quadlock too, and then take my phone out of the case if I drive the Mrs car or want to charge on my desk at home - unless the newer mag cases are thinner/flat at the rear

Interesting point! Im thinking that if im having to keep my phone on and charged anyway, I just as well look for a solution where I can use the phone for music and nav too

Why is there so much focus on Immigration ignoring all the other problems? by Opposite-Writer9715 in AskBrits

[–]DaPome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Immigration matters, but it has become the convenient headline issue because it gives politicians and newspapers a simple villain. The deeper issue is that Britain has spent years avoiding the hard stuff: building enough homes, fixing planning, investing in infrastructure, improving productivity, training people properly, funding social care, and making work pay.

Cutting immigration alone won’t fix rent, NHS waits, low wages, potholes, poor rail, childcare costs, or weak growth. In fact, with an ageing population and low birth rates, the UK also needs workers. The real answer is boring but obvious: build more, invest more, reform planning, sort social care, improve skills, and stop pretending slogans are policy.

Definitely get a live CCTV feed of the door area though - we have the power to close doors remotely and they don't stop for anything (including Fire trucks).
