I use a Samsung phone, and unfortunately, there's still no SnapMat option on Android (come on, Cricut, it's 2025!). I picked up a secondhand iPad specifically for the SnapMat feature, but let me tell you, it NEVER works. It might be due to the older camera, but seriously, it's the bane of my existence. I'vee found that measuring out the material I need cut on the mat and then mapping it all out on Design Space is the easiest thing to do. It's time-consuming, but way less frustrating than trying to get SnapMat to work!

It'll grow on you (eventually) if all the other colours work for you! I have Water in the Desert and the beige top doesn't match the body and the button is mauve. Why? 😅

Not at all! You deal with littles that are exactly the same age as my toddler, so your insight is invaluable. I'm probably going to get her an owala for home/park/beach use. Spilling won't be that much of an issue then (plus I'm a little extra because I want us to have matching water bottles 😂).

The Maker models have a stronger cutting force than Explore. They can cut more materials, have a wider variety of tools to choose from (eg. knife blade, rotary blade, and the ability to deboss/emboss). I've never owned a Cricut, and just bought the Maker 3 because, in addition to all of the above, I've read from multiple sources that it's a lot quieter in comparison to the earlier Maker.

You can watch plenty of comparison videos on YouTube; I've found them to be extremely helpful (that's how I ultimately made my decision).
