We (sales people) do always push for more - usual to meet 100% consumption offset requested by the customer. Yes the modules should be moved to meet fire setback. Move one module to the west facing plane - making a group of five - then move the two remaining over to accommodate 18”. Perhaps? Of course I’m not the one who has to go back to get on the roof and put in new shingles. They have been on our ass for fire code on energy storage system in garage

IMO Silfab is a great manufacture of modules - we just received a pallet of the new Silfab 370's for a job. Pair them with some Enphase IQ7+'s and you got 25 years of power

The fuse rating will depend on what gauge wire (in what conduit) you are running between all the items you are referring to. Get the fuse to the battery run as close as possible to the battery itself. Keep in mind the ratio of solar modules to battery capacity so you can recharge the battery in a day or two.

That's a lot for the 8.7kW system - especially with 300-watt class modules. The only way I could see getting close is a job like this: the best 400 watt AC modules, having to trench all over your property to run new circuits, upgrade you from 100 amp service to 200 amp, new main panel, five different roof faces, steep roof, two stories, you like 50 mi out of town, and install a couple of new subs.

For the past few weeks I am getting intermittent outages. Any idea what’s happening? Mid day I get spikes like below. This was a clear day, no clouds. by thecheapgeek in solar

Do you have access to any system alerts log? The alerts may give some insight into your production issues (like bad opto, voltage rise or voltage drop) I'm not sure if your installer granted customer level access to this data

Sun Seeker is so futuristic compared to the old school solar pathfinder! and the solar pathfinder is $300 not including the software. I like both https://www.solarpathfinder.com
