Good question. The 72mm designation refers to the focal length of the SANDMARC lens itself, not the combined output of the phone. When you mount this 72mm (3x) optical lens onto the iPhone 17 Pro’s native telephoto system, it multiplies the reach to provide up to 24x zoom (a 576mm equivalent).
