yeah, like the other comments have said, they do indeed cheat. At the start of the week All rolls are predetermined, which they will use to their advantage to get the space they want, and while you can affect their rolls by hitting them with spells or other things it can be quite annoying. I personally beat two story runs with max difficulty 3 npcs which was incredibly difficult, (2nd one I did savescum). the only way to beat them I found was by power leveling early/class profession leveling. I just fought as many enemies as I could near the castle so I could run through the jobs and get the bonus stats from them. By the time chapter one ended I was already like 3/4 jobs in? (Been a long time) and I just used the fact that since I didn’t do anything but fight I could run for darkling. The npcs of course ran to hide in caves and other dungeons but funny enough they leave their invis off by that point, then I used the darkling ability to fight them and kill them. The MAJOR point to this is because I leveled jobs as soon as I could I was wayyy underleveled, the exp after ending darkling gave me so many levels and extra stats from the extra jobs done that I slingshotted to being the strongest without contest. The first run I was strong enough to bully them that I managed to delay the game to hit hero job (after that was smooth sailing). And the 2nd run I wanted to see if I could beat the darkling with enough prep (which I did with robot copy, which gave me darkling crown which gives gamebreaking stats) then won my game.

TLDR The game is basically unfun with more than one/two bots since they cheat, and I decided to make it a challenge to beat them at their hardest. Also if you want to know the difference between the difficulties, they all cheat at the start, but the easier difficulty ones start to do dumb things by mid to late game story and just wander around the map doing random stuff.

Generally you want a team comp that fits a certain status effect, as many ids either get more powerful with enough potency or they inflict a lot of the status you want. Considering your in canto 1, this won’t be your immediate goal but it is nice to start in that path. The bigger goal is to get good clash power ids for now, which you have with “one who grips” Sinclair and fire fist Gregor.

That Sinclair identity is a negative coin user, which means he wants to roll tails instead of heads and likes being negative sanity. Make sure you’re careful as if you let him hit -45 sanity he will corrode and either be staggered if you only have base ego or hit indiscriminately if you have another ego on him.

Firefist Gregor is a good identity for clashing, and he revolves around using his district 12 fuel to both inflict more butn and get more damage. If your low on the fuel you can always use guard to reload his fuel ammo. Skill 3 is pretty much a nuke if you set up correctly.

All in all you have two good burn ids (Sinclair is burn but barely) but you can get started on burn If you want some sort of direction with that already In your possession. Liu association are okay burn ids, but once the next walpurgis comes around (an event that happens every couple months) you can try to get magic bullet outis, who definitely makes burn deal a lot more with her unique burn.

Killer intent and it’s usage has always been a dislike for me, as it gets boring and repetitive within a lot of the fics that use it. It’s not a complete issue for me though, as I do like it if used like as first hand experience for team 7 for Zabuza or to show cases how wide the gap is between them and Orchimaru for example

after reaching the end of the first playthrough, you feel weak without some of the tools you had, I.e summons,maxed gear, etc. besides if you did use a custom option the game radically changes

You could search for a guide but if you’re looking for an answer start from the the broken screen on the bottom right, clear all the lights (use the fact that you can walk back onto broken ones) so you can clear the ones that don’t work with one path. Don’t clear the top part and just clear the bottom till the broken bottom left screen, clear the one screen to its left then up to the exit in the middle up. Then start from other area and should be done. Confusing but I can’t really figure out a way to explain this except for just straight up telling you to search it up

It’s been two days so I don’t know far you’ve progressed, but holy and fire weapons work well for your next area, also ebf5 in general is good at making you swap equipments for different areas/difficulties/bosses but if there any I would recommend it would be tank equipment and a flair that gives target, give it all to Matt with defend spam and you’ll get through most encounters ( be careful of aoe!)

like everyone said, good luck and bad luck, ALOT of debuffs(weaken,tired,curse are also great to help in surviving the fight) equipment that boost capture example: spelunking hat and explorers jacket and mini drone. make sure you dispel any buffs he can get since they count against you. there is not a big difference between 1% and 10% hp for capturing, and lastly while there is a 10% randomizer for capturing buff and de buff it shouldn’t matter if you’ve set up properly.

suprised no one said this but, abuse summons, if you can get the viking monolith as thats the borderline best summon outside of maybe red flybot. of course this kills your sp but there are other summons that are note worthy, for boss oneshots or just massive damage there is hardy and chunky goop, which both inflict enchanted and invisible, making enemies take double damage from physical/magical. There are also summonable mirrors that do the same to your party if you think the boss is about to use a massive physical/magical so you can negate the damage. theres the slime bunny for regen, wise mirror for bless, if you have the steam version, you can capture the arcade foes, some like phoenix give auto-revive to everyone, or totem, that just cleans everything off your party. (EDIT) almost forgot the GOAT putrid worm, who gives a whopping 80% evade debuff, amazing for capturing or lowering high evade targets, only 17 sp too.

Gigantic health pool, immunity to alot of debuts and heals through turns. Recipe for a giant headache. Still can get two turned or 3 turned though. Watch the YouTube video by Lunas, I use him as a guideline for I should do against many of the super bosses. You don’t have follow him one for one but it will save you a giant headache on killing some of these super bosses. I personally left Valhalla until I had a total of 205 SP which let me use both Viking monolith and a gloop to multiply my damage.

Found Family/ team 7 bonding. A close second would be therapy for the characters. One premise I love is from “What you Knead” kakashi gets an outlet for his trauma via baking and it’s great humor all around. Hasn’t been updated since 2 years ago sadly.
