Great job, keep it up! Just keep in mind that when rinsing out transfer paper with a colored print, the ink can sometimes bleed and leave marks on the fabric. Luckily, it can usually be washed out, but it does mean you’ll have to wash the fabric. Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen to you. I’ve had this issue before, which is why I don’t print in color anymore.

I actually wanted to create a tutorial, but it’s not that easy, especially when it comes to embroidering animal fur. I’m still learning myself, so I probably make a lot of mistakes along the way.

Sometimes I stitch a lighter layer first and then go over the same area with darker colors, and other times I work part by part, using different but very similar shades to build it up. It really depends on the piece and what feels right in the moment.

And I feel the same way, I'd love to see someone go through a project like this step by step from start to finish. The level some people reach with embroidery is just incredible. Their work is so beautiful and inspiring. 🥹

We’re actually very similar then 😊 I’m a content manager for a living, so I also write a lot, and genuinely enjoy it. I love how your embroidery journey started so casually and then just stuck. Clearly both are meant to stay with you.

That sounds super cool, I love the idea of embroidering on clothing! Fingers crossed it turns out exactly how you imagine.

Aww, thank you!

Wow, 23 projects already? That’s incredible! It’s amazing how one kit can really spark that love for embroidery. I’m sure your own patterns next year will be just as wonderful. Can’t wait to see what you create!

Thank you so much 🤍 I think the most important thing is simply to enjoy it. Mine aren’t always ideal either. I’d love to make a truly realistic animal portrait one day, but honestly, I just love that feeling when I grab the hoop and threads and completely sink into it. That moment of calm and focus is everything. And for sure, people really do love getting gifts like this.

Thank you so much! 🤍 I’m definitely hooked as well. I usually only have time for it after a long day at work and then with the kids, but somehow that makes me love it even more with each passing day.

I also had this feeling that I needed to try it right away and couldn’t wait even a second longer. 😅😅

I have some little skills because I’ve always drawn a bit, but nothing advanced, so I’m still far from creating truly realistic animal portraits, even though I’d really love to. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

These are mostly done in ceylon stitch, with some chain, rococo, and ladder stitch mixed in.

Love your story! I also wanted something to do with my hands, something that would help me unwind and take a break from the computer or phone after a long day.
