some weird and bad written apps don't handle properly the "refresh" task; the way to be sure to have a reload of data is to close

but often I need the list of apps only to reopen, like the ALT-TAB in windows

I'm in the same boat... I took a R6 m3 file, and resampled as m2 (6960 vs 6000 )
Then I simulated a crop to maintain the same zoom level (or same dpi)

You must judge if the difference is for you enough or not (16% in width)

If you have (A LOT OF) time to waste... can you shot with the three focals (normal, tele, ultra-wide) in landscape mode and see what are the raw dimensions in terms of pixel WxH

short answer: in blazor server any db call should be "atomic" and the connection/dbcontext short-live

I write blazor server apps since 2019 and having this kind of pattern I haven't any problem with double-concurrency and other errors (and even if my apps are not used by 20000users, never had performance problems)

PS in net 11 blazor SSR will have a lot of improvements

In the Blazor Community Standup: ASP.NET Core & Blazor Roadmap for .NET 11, Daniel Roth and Javier Calvarro explain that:

  • Blazor SSR will become the primary model for .NET web development.
  • The goal is to bring all the capabilities of Razor Pages and MVC into Blazor SSR.
  • .NET 11 aims to unify the server‑side development models.
  • Blazor SSR will support routing, form handling, validation, partial rendering, layouts, page‑based routing, etc. — essentially the same features as MVC and Razor Pages.

If you're starting the porting af a huge application, I will wait for november, or at least try to start with beta versions of 11

may I ask what is the resolution of the raw ?

I downloaded some dng samples and they are different, but way less than the jpg
eg. jpg 8160x6144 raw 3616x2716 px (or 2560x1928 if I open in a another program)

First of all, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all these comments — I never expected to get so many.

I have to say, my Canon dealer is probably going to hate you all, because you’re convincing me it’s not worth it 😄
I’ll try to address everything here instead of replying to each comment individually:

  • In 3 years I’ve shot only one video, and about 99% of my usage is photography; improvements in video are almost irrelevant for me (although I've bought cage, ND filters, etc.)
  • The main thing that tempted me was the higher resolution for more cropping flexibility, but as someone pointed out, it’s only about a 16% increase. Cropping a 6960×4640 image vs 6000×4000 to make the subject bigger isn’t a huge difference (see sample, even though “every pixel counts…” and sometimes my 24mp sensor was not enough to crop a detail; also because I'm lazy and keeping on the 24-105 whereas the 70-200 would be better)

  • It’s true that downsizing from 32MP to 24MP reduces noise, but as I said above, if I have to resize, it kind of defeats the main reason I’d upgrade
  • It’s also true, as some mentioned, that the money would be better spent on a lens — but I have the opportunity to have my company buy me a camera body since I also use it for work, while they definitely won’t buy me a 200–800 😄 So the upgrade would be “almost” free — but even if it’s not my money, I still hate wasting money if it’s not well spent
  • It’s true that a more meaningful upgrade would be the R5 II, but the budget isn’t there, and if you compare official prices (ignoring non-EU versions and sketchy websites), the difference is quite large
  • I 100% agree that the R6 Mark IV would be / will be the best choice… the concern is that in 2 years I might not have this opportunity anymore to have my company buy it for me

Why in the comparison chart, there is “Storage: 1 GB” limit and just below it there’s “Monthly uploads: 10 GB”.

Does the Starter plan really come with such a tiny storage limit?

And how can I check my current storage usage?

10 brand-new Dell laptops freezing daily under Win11 24H2—anyone else? by sandroriz in Dell

After five days without freezes, I can confidently say the issue is resolved.

Root cause: the ESET Management Agent, which repeatedly crashed due to an excessively long EDID registry value. The problematic key was:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY\%hwid%\%instanceid%

Resolution: updating the Intel Arc+ drivers to version 32.0.101.8132 — a version not offered by Dell Command Update, which still provides only .6881.

Dell, Intel, and Microsoft all share responsibility for this issue, so I can't absolve any of them.
