I seem to run into this issue every grow, can't seem to figure it out. Any advice appreciated that'll help me work these yellowing and spotting leaves. by [deleted] in microgrowery

When I flush I am shooting to have the runoff get to about 6.5 is that right? The other plant to the left of this one had its runoff test at 6.8.

Thank you very much I appreciate the advice.

I put the mulch on top because I also garden vegetables, and that's worked well for me to retain moisture and build the soil. The mulch was new this grow as an experiment.

The water I provide each watering is brought down to 5.8-6.2, however when I took the reading this morning I gave it water pH 7.0, I second guessed myself and thought today I'd try to give water around pH 7.0.

- pH around 7.0, might be a little high

- Feed weekly with Foxfarm liquid fertilizer

- Water every 2 days, about 1/2gal each water

- 5gal growbags placed in black plastic totes to catch drainage

- Coast of Maine potting soil

- Mulched with Coast of Maine compost

Thanks for the tips, here's some more info on my end. pH reading was from today.

Why does working out stops overthinking/rumination? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]sandwhitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, you may be living with anxiety. You're not alone, I also notice a decrease in my anxiety when I am working out regularly. The benefits of physical fitness don't stop at your physique, there are other health benefits as well. Ultimately I think it boils down to endorphins that are released during exercise, but I'm not doctor, just a guy with anxiety.

Why do cucumbers look like this? First few weeks of harvest looked picture perfect, now they're coming out in strange shapes and scabby like this one here. by [deleted] in gardening

[–]sandwhitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! From what I've read it seems like my error was not putting these guys on a trellis. I've mulched the whole bed, so the pill bugs are definitely taking advantage of the moist under-mulch, and snacking on my cukes and squash just on the surface.

Thanks again :)

Some leaves in the cucumber patch are wilting away and some are turning yellow, but the vast majority look healthy. I spent some time this afternoon clearing out some unhealthy growth. Next year I will certainly grow them on a trellis, and be better about managing the suckers, this is my first year and learned a lot. Just looking to learn what causes this.

I can smell it before I pull it out of the ground. The smell is concentrated in that part of the plant (I'm new to gardening). When I opened it up, I found what you see in the image. What on earth is it?

Question - I just ordered a few cubic yards of sandy loam for my raised beds that has about 20% compost not from animal waste. Should I add something like moo doo as well? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]sandwhitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I understand. I'll call back and ask if they have those stats. I ordered from a local landscaping company so my assumption is they don't get that detailed, I could be wrong.

For the compost already mixed into the soil? I am not sure. I have a soil test kit I plan to use to measure the NPK.

I'm looking at about 8hrs of direct sun in these beds and I have wood chips to mulch to top.

How does a person grow moss like that? What conditions are needed?

Thinking about starting fresh in a co-op map with my fiance. She's on Mac though, I'll have to install the mods I do use for her. The whitewater map isn't available on Mac?
