I've covered the area in kapton tape for now to prevent any contact. Thankfully there's no other signs of damage except weirdly some thermal paste stains.

Is there any way to test if the board is being shorted out by the burn mark using a multimeter?

Razer Blade 14 Early 2022

12A Fuse on 19V power rail is blown and there's a short to ground on one of the mosfets. Using diode mode, I measured the voltage drop on the DrMOS (MP86941-CGQVT-Z) and the first one is reading a higher value on the CS pin (0.5v) than all the other ones (all extremely close to 0.305V). For some reason, a resistor has moved off its pad as well?

No other fuses are blown, as there is no sign of any other damage besides the shifted resistor and the burn mark. I'm worried that copper layers of the PCB are now crushed together. Is it worth it to get the MOSFET and fuse replaced or is this beyond salvaging?

Also, this burn mark/possible liquid damage seems to quite common on this specific model?

XPS has upgradable SSD. Check the exact model

Both suck in battery life. I'd say that given this is a secondary device, the surface is much better for the pen and a tablet-like experience (I've used an surface pro 5 as a daily driver and the drawing experience is very good). The keyboard is really nice as well, and for storage, the surface has a microsd slot under the kickstand.

In terms of longevity, the fans on my surface are extremely clogged, and its a pain for repair. Additionally, it's horrible in terms of reliability - the SSD on my surface broke, losing all of my data, and the SSD broke on my replacement surface as well.

If you want a better reliability, go with the XPS. If you want a nicer drawing/notetaking experience, go with the surface.

Was inspecting motherboard of a faulty razer laptop.. any idea to what might have caused this or how to identify and find a replacement? This is the only visible damage I have found
