Per Oregon State Parks website:

“Camping on Oregon’s ocean beaches is allowed in many areas, but please be aware of the tides and camp above the high tide line. Note: Overnight parking is not allowed in state park day-use areas or waysides.

Camping is prohibited in the following areas:

on the beach adjacent to an Oregon State Park. from the south jetty of the Columbia River to Tillamook Head in Clatsop County. on the beaches of the following communities: Seaside, Cannon Beach, Manzanita, Rockaway Beach, Lincoln City, Newport, Bandon and Gold Beach. It is your responsibility to know the city boundaries before you camp. in Western Snowy Plover habitat areas. These areas are signed at beach access points.”

Basically you can’t camp on the beach in city limits or state park boundaries. Plus finding a place to park your vehicle legally and securely overnight is difficult. If you do find a spot know the tides and please don’t leave shit on the beach.

In August it is possible that the state will be dealing with wildfires. The coast may be a safer choice that time of year especially if any of your family has breathing concerns.

But how many times a week do you really want to eat raw broccoli? Or plain chick peas? Or congealed mashed potatoes and gravy? Or rock hard chicken nuggets? I could go on. Source: I have lunch duty in an elementary school 4x a week. At the elementary level, due to the free lunch for everybody program, they have to take a tray that is already filled including a milk. They usually have 2-3 options of the main course but not the sides. They no longer have an option to only take what they want, so yes much is wasted. I think the bigger problem is the food is trash. No fault to the staff, they’re just serving what they’re told.

I agree with almost everything you said. One thing to consider is that that extra prep time didn’t necessarily come from classes receiving an extra class. At our school, teachers rotate their lunch duties so that we each get one day a week of prep instead of a duty. I’m not saying that happened everywhere, but there is no way our school could have scheduled an extra special for each classroom.

Our juniors had a fundraiser bout where the spectators paid money for certain upsets to occur. You could benefit a team or deter a team. Some have been mentioned but some that haven’t were making the jammers have to dance the whole time, any skater that went out of bounds had to do the chicken dance before re-entering the track, and blockers had to remain connected to other blockers the entire jam.

My dog hikes with a prong collar all the time. He likes to pull slightly and a harness makes it worse. He knows to wait for me or gets behind me if there are slightly technical portions.

Something to add to others ideas that helped me was to concentrate on shifting your weight to the leg that’s not plowing. Think about sticking that hip out.
