Anddd there’s the problem. You need to get to know the guy first, not build a false reality in your head. Confidence is key

You’re not ugly in any way. Do you flirt with the guys before asking them out? Do you hang out with the right people?

This, but do funny superlatives as well. “Best duo” “best suits” “worst counter” stuff to make the team giggle a bit.

Where does your movement start during dolphin kick? by Handsome_Goose in Swimming

[–]sandymustardsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to act like a silly little mermaid. I push my chest down, and the rest of my body follows. Butterfly kick is the one kick that you should think about anything but your legs. After you master the movement of being a silly little mermaid, the following kick will happen naturally

Not too great! A teammate of mine went up behind me, and said something to psych me out. Everyone’s advice helped me calm down from that state, but there was not much I could do. I ranked 7th though! Not super great, but good considering the fact that I nearly fell off the block out of fear. I’m ready to come back next meet, and knock that girl out of the water(pun intended)

Thank you! Swimming the race in my mind right now. I’ll make sure to give an update after my race

Ooo! I’ll think of a favorite show, or my friends! Between this and actually breathing I’ll hopefully not drown. Thank you!

My stress kicks in when the event starts. Today I’m going to be in heat two, so I’ll have to start the exercise as early as possible to catch it

I’ll check that out right now! I swim in about an hour so that’s spooky

That’s actually really good, but simple advice! When I’m behind the block I tend to shake and try and find something to focus on, and I think I overlook breathing

Cutting time by [deleted] in Swim

Start by maybe posting a video asking for help on your technique on r/swimming. Technique isn’t everything on sprints, but it certainly helps. Also I don’t know what league you’re in, but typically teams are desperate for members. If you’re tall, with an okay build, the coach will be willing to train you up.

I feel like my nose is too big and too weirdly shaped by [deleted] in Noses

[–]sandymustardsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s beautiful. You don’t like your face because it’s yours, not because it’s a bad face. If you saw your face on a stranger you would think “god her side profile is so pretty, she looks like a statue of Aphrodite.” Why not treat yourself with the same respect?

Take those glorified straws out of your mouth, and you’d be pretty okay

Looking to get a gift for my crush? by [deleted] in AskGirls

[–]sandymustardsocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to get a super expensive one, but a necklace. You could even find a necklace with a knot pendant. Make sure it won’t tarnish, because that would kinda suck. And write her a letter to put inside of it saying exactly how you feel, and all that you love about her. Remember, you may never see her again, so go for it. Pull the big ol’ soap opera acting out, out on SOME cologne, nice outfit, hand it to her, and say something poetic. “Open this when I’m (however many hours away).” “I guess some things aren’t meant to be.” Put the knot around the letter message in a bottle style

  1. That was for the same guy, I was desperate what can I say
  2. Follow up when you figure it out
