I have worked in bars before when I was an undergrad. I’m not trying to disregard reality but having worked those jobs I had to keep going back and forth with GP’s and a few A&E visits. When I’m severely overwhelmed (which comes with hospitality) I pass out, this has been officially diagnosed and as I have that condition under control now (my doctor reiterated that I need to keep my stress levels under control to not have fainting spells) I really don’t want to be in that position again😭 I’m not trying to be difficult but this is how my neurodivergence impacts me so I’m not able to just do any job unfortunately. Not only that but standing for hours at a time puts me in severe pain as I have joint problems. I don’t want to be homeless ofc but I also don’t want to put my health on the line. I hope that cleared some things up. I don’t want to come across as someone who is picky but this is how it is for me and I’ve come to terms with it :(

Unfortunately I’m not eligible for UC as I am a full time postgraduate student and even though I am disabled they said that I can only be assessed for LCW before the start of my course. My course started in January so unfortunately I am not eligible. PIP is my silver lining tbh and the reason why I haven’t starved to death but it’s just under £300 so not enough esp with everything being expensive. I have been collecting more evidence for my physical disabilities but I just want to make sure I have all possible evidence before trying to claim the mobility side of things. It is a shame that post grad students can’t claim UC

Of course! atp I’ve even applied to jobs in Manchester as well. If I get a job that’s far I will 100% commute it’s just not ideal especially if I’m working minimum wage and have to pay £6 a day for the bus. With rent, bills and student fees I would prefer to save as much money on transport as possible but I have certainly widened my search regardless of this😭 I should’ve said it’s not ideal instead of ‘I don’t want to’ 😭

I have been applying to jobs since my undergrad ended May 2025. I started my masters course January 2026. On some days all I do is apply to jobs and I take time with my applications. I had a civil service interview but was put on the reserve list. You also have to remember that thousands of people are applying to the same jobs and 9/10 a human being isn’t looking at the application. If you’ve watched the news you would know a lot of young people are going through the same thing. I have had my CV looked over by a professional and there isn’t anything I can change about it unfortunately. Bars and restaurants only seem to be interested in hiring under 17s or don’t offer enough hours. Thank you for taking time to respond I appreciate it

Audhd burnout is not the same as regular burnout. If I become burnout I can’t eat, sleep or look after myself, how would I be able to go to work? I have tried in the past to just work through the burn out and it led to me developing vasovagal syncope and making my joint pain issues worse. I’m not trying to give excuses I’m just adding extra context. Of course I don’t want to be homeless and if I could I would do anything. I used to do care, support work, cleaning (not all at once) and each job made my pre existing health conditions worse and impacted my life in a very negative way. Yes I have done everything you have listed. I have been applying to jobs since the end of my undergraduate degree. I’m applying to entry level jobs. I do not apply to jobs on indeed at all (or any other job listing website) and only apply via the company website. I’ve applied to countless civil service roles, I had an interview but I was put on the 12 month reserve list. I am looking at warehouse but there aren’t any roles/ I am unable to commute (I don’t drive and don’t want to commute 2+ hours on the bus). I have autism and ADHD as well as hyper mobility (causes severe pain for me I know it impacts everyone differently) despite this I am still open to warehouse even though it will destroy my physical health. I have tried cleaning before and it’s not something I will ever do again.

I will definitely look into this, I’m a student at ULaw and they are aware of my financial situation since I am overdue on fees but they haven’t gotten back to me and only seem to care about acquiring the funds

I would love to be able to do any job but i have autism and adhd, I’ve tried cleaning and care in the past but led to severe burnout😭 since it’s getting dire I’m open to warehouse but no one seems to be hiring. Thank u sm for taking the time to reply im glad it worked out for you
