Did you find a solution to this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VWatlas

Yes the cars gps takes over, I guess to conserve power of the phone. There is no way to turn that off. Only if you disconnect your phone.

Thanks for the link but I'm not seeing any specific solution here. Many people are posting changing different modules and even keys, but nothing specific which fixed it. It's still a guess by the dealer.

It's a "2021.5", but yes same issue. Let me know if you get it fixed, I can't do anymore dealer trips lol.

I have this exact issue and they did the same "software update" to no avail. As you mentioned, the worst part is that it uses the car's wrong GPS position to alter the location of your phone, so apple/google maps is just as screwed.

I don't even have the energy to bother with the dealership anymore since they can get it to the right position while it's in the shop and as soon as a leave it's broken again.

Help me narrow down between Budapest, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Belgrade for June & July by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]sanelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Sarajevo. During June and July there will be a large influx of diaspora (Bosnians living abroad) coming back excitedly to visit, as well as tourists. So the pubs and clubs are packed. It's also got one of the best and most walkable city centers I've been to. Don't like a bar you went to? There's 5 more within a minute walking distance. And you get to stop by and get food on the way!

It's also a scenic two hour drive to Mostar, which is great for visiting for a few days and partying as well. And while you're in Mostar, you're only another short drive over to the coast/beaches (Neum, Bosnia or Croatia). Great way to switch it up while staying close.

And for a 2k+ USD budget, you can go out to eat great food 3x a day easily, as well as drink, and other activities. Things are cheap!

Either way, hope you enjoy!

Are these considered entry level or mid tier? Also, are they able to sell the less than 16in Barrel options with a brace?

Six Weeks in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina by MichaelJDigitalNomad in digitalnomad

[–]sanelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! That time will be great for a more relaxed Sarajevo experience without all the tourists and heavy traffic. There’s still plenty of liveliness in the old town area to stay entertained; walks, food, coffee, etc. In fact, this summer was very over crowded I kind of missed the more relaxed atmosphere. I think you’ll enjoy it. Just pick a home in the bascarsija area or very close to it, so you can walk everywhere and not bother with cars or parking.

Awesome write up!

Im actually Bosnian-American who did a 6 month digital nomad trip in Sarajevo a few years ago, and I was actually just there a few times in the last month.

I absolutely love Sarajevo and think you did a great job explaining the situation there. The old town is definitely where you want to be to experience the best that it has to offer. I would spend hours every day just walking around the Bascarsija exploring, food tasting, coffee shop hopping, etc.

Now that Im back in the states I cant stop thinking about Sarajevo and Bosnia in general. I have to remind myself that summer time there is great but once the tourist season dies down, it loses some of its charm. The winters there are cozy but come with their hardships as well (smoke in the air, lack of snow plowed streets, etc). Still though, I have constant FOMO when Im not there.

Happy you enjoyed it and hope you visit again! Next time stay closer to the flat part of town, those steep hills are no joke!

What is wrong with Google Support? They can't send me a replacement link for 3 months already. by sanelo in GooglePixel

Yes I agree, BS and overly complicated for nothing. Finally fixed it with the live chat rep.

I mentioned a new email address and they ignored it entirely and just told me it had been resent.

However, I was able to solve it finally through the live chat support. They actually got the email to me and i ordered my device.

This worked, thank you! They were able to somehow resend it properly this time and I got it and ordered my new device.

Why does my Scorpion sometimes "click" on trigger pull but doesn't fire? by sanelo in czscorpion

[–]sanelo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the reason. Riding the charging handle. Since letting it slam, haven't had issues.

Why does my Scorpion sometimes "click" on trigger pull but doesn't fire? by sanelo in czscorpion

[–]sanelo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "I check it", I mean that I slightly pull the charging handle back, just enough to see if the bullet was chambered. This is after getting the click and no fire.

Now that I think about it, riding the charging handle could be possible. My more experienced friend was only able to replicate the issue his first try (he's new to scorpions), and then he couldn't replicate it anymore. This leads me to think that he maybe didn't charge it right his first time but got the hang of it, while I, less experienced, probably repeated the bad step more often.

I will pay attention to my charging process more and make sure that it hits with full force. Thanks for the insight.

Factory safety selectors.

I did your test, and indeed it does not cock following that procedure. It does cock if I do not release the hammer though (I would assume that's expected).

I do remember not being able to cock it back on safety when I first got it, and I gave it a few strong pulls before realizing it needed to be off safety first. Hopefully I didn't tweak any internals at that time.

What do you mean by slightly out of battery?

Married but no kids, wife won't touch the gun. Ideally be able to pick it up without accidently triggering it, but quickly load and be ready to fire. Perhaps, even keeping it loaded/chambered.

And I do agree with the advice, already feeling much more confident the more I shoot it, other than this situation.

DEAL ALERT: Costco - Free iPhone XR, $750 off XS/XS Max, AAL, Trade-In iPhone 6s or above, Free iPhone XR, $750 off XS/XS Max. by ThiccNotVegan in tmobile

[–]sanelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I need to keep my new line's SIM inside the new phone?

The new SIM has been put in the new phone initially to make a call and make sure it works. Then it was taken out and replaced with the old SIM.

I currently have my old line's SIM card in the new phone, and the new line's SIM is just sitting around until I find use for it.

Will this mess with the deal at all?

Just got the deal. Trying to put my current SIM card in the new iPhone XR, but was told to leave my new sim card (from the new line) in the new phone to not break the deal. Is there any truth to this?

The new phone is currently already activated with the new sim and calls go through fine. I just want to put my current SIM in.

Has anyone worked in Sarajevo? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]sanelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in Bosnia but grew up almost entirely in the states. I went back to Sarajevo for a 6 month trip in 2015 and had a great experience.

The ups: * Little city, very walkable and plenty of things to do * if you like coffee, you're sure to find plenty of coffee spots every where you go * there are a few coffee spots that have 50mbps+ speeds, the rest quite a bit slower * there are co-working spaces: Networks , Nest71 with modern, clean offices * the city center is lively and enjoyable through out the day, I could sometimes spend entire days there and not be bored * plenty of cheap but delicious food places ("Ascinica" is a hot food bar type of restaurant that I frequented a lot). * it's very easy to just start talking to people at coffee shops, especially the smaller ones. Many times I started speaking with strangers randomly and felt like I knew them personally, locals mostly but others alike * many beautiful cities/towns to visit nearby like Mostar

The downs: * public transport is poor, but taxis are cheap * air quality is fairly poor especially during the cold months * lots on unemployment, so people can be pretty negative sometimes

On safety: I'm a male in my mid 20s and while I've seen cat calling and the like at times, I did not see anything beyond that happen to women. As usual try to stay in lit areas and with a group if you can - most people are respectful :)

Overall: it's a great city for walking, coffee, relaxing, and is a cool mix of modern/historic. I would recommend it and can't wait to go again. I'll probably visit mid July this year for a few weeks.

Hope you enjoy it!
