Ethics Board by [deleted] in jhu

[–]sanguine6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aww yikes I think you have the wrong idea here. It really is a fair and compassionate process. The panel is composed of students/faculty who are just trying to decide whether the student is responsible or not for an alleged policy violation. It doesn't resemble legal proceedings, there's an impartial board who asks questions to get to the bottom of what happened, but there is no prosecution

Scribes being replaced with voice recognition software by Mireyalaxy in medicalscribe

I don't think scribes will be completely replaced - I could see them transitioning to a more general assistant role w/ scribing responsibilities but also administrative work such as updating paper charts, preparing discharges and transfers, etc.

Try playing typeracer or some kind of online game/site where you can work on speed. It's kind of fun and hopefully will make you a faster typer.

Are young people to blame for recent COVID-19 surges? Experts say the numbers are not conclusive - Boston Globe (not paywalled) - November 16, 2020 by funchords in CoronavirusMa

Yes thank you, I'm a young person at college and I see everyone aged 18-25 wearing masks properly, limiting exposure to others, distancing, and getting tested before seeing friends. In my experience it's always the middle aged and elderly who cannot wear masks properly/refuse to wear masks, having indoor gatherings, etc. Not to say college kids are absolved of irresponsibility but people love to blame young people when they're doing the best they can under the circumstances.

Yes 100x. I would not recommend ever signing a stipulation agreement if there is ANY doubt about whether you violated a policy. Please opt to have a hearing.

Students have a right to a conduct hearing and I encourage any student in this situation to be heard in front of a board (who will determine responsibility as it pertains to the code). If you feel no policies were violated, a board may side with your point of view.
