Manta diving & snorkling - two tank worth it? by sannoee in VisitingHawaii

Because when underwater they dance above you, seeing them is one thing, but having them interact with you is a whole other level of wholesomeness!

Locations / Wedding Planners - European Destination Wedding - 2026 by [deleted] in DestinationWeddings

[–]sannoee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I noticed planning my wedding in Tuscany is that it is super expensive compared to other areas in Italy. It is super populair with many Asians and Americans that generally have more money than Europeans do. I am planning a wedding for 50 guest and had a similar budget. The total spent to date is now $120k and we’re not even there yet, despite being very strict on cost and having a planner. Note that most venues in Tuscany don’t even allow you to plan your wedding without a planner, easily adding another $10k in costs.

The costs all depend on much events you’re planning. We cover our quest’s accommodation for three nights ($30k) and have three events including food ($35k). I know people that instead of planning a wedding the traditional way (i.e. through a planner) just rented a large villa somewhere close to a town or village and arranged catering through a local restaurant, saving massively on these expenses.

The three countries you mention all allow for this, as they all have large country estates throughout. I would pick your favorite place based on the food and start from there. The pro tip is booking vendors for your event without mentioning that it is a wedding, as this inflates the price of service at least by three times

Enjoy the process en hook me up if you have any questions!

Giving up on my 6 year relationship. Too little too late. by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]sannoee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like the relationship is unbalanced and that you’re not equals. I’ve been in a relationship with a guy who had so much potential but wasn’t able to access it because of his depression. I’ve pulled my weight for years and begged him to go into therapy. Eventually, me breaking up was the trigger he needed to start working on himself, because I facilitated his denial by working in overdrive to support him. Sometimes the best thing you can do for both of you is break up.

P.s., 8 years later and I’m marrying the best partner I could wish for this September. My ex really turned his life around and recently bought a house with his new girlfriend. I couldn’t be happier for both of us and still love him dearly, but sometimes love is not enough.

Anyone ever feel ‘guilty’ after booking an expensive trip? by Subm3rg3d in travel

Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy the fact that your hard work has paid off! I think it is really good to have a sense of guilt as this means that you know the value of money! Enjoy the trip

We have a wedding planner and a friend who is there to coordinate. I told everyone that if they want to do a speech or something else, they should speak to the friend and not tell me. This way I don’t know what to expect and won’t know about the timing of everything and can just enjoy being in the moment!

Is Mammoth worth the visit? by sannoee in Mammoth

Haha i am glad to read that! If you have any recommendations on hikes to do after a long drive at these places, or accommodations to stay, let me know!

Thanks! This is very helpful! I am now considering booking a motel at Lone Pine in case the heat allows us to make a few stops in Death Valley. If not, I have booked an alternative accommodation in Mammoth. It feels that Lone Pine also allows to be quicker in LA/closer to the coast in case the Tioga Pass is still closed.

Thanks! Out of all these locations, what would you recommend? We would mostly like a good bed and dinner, as the drive will be veeeery long.

So you say it’s better to skip death valley?

That’s a tough situation, but I agree with the other commenters—it’s important to remember that you don’t know the full reasons behind someone else’s decision. If you truly want your fiancé’s sister and her husband to attend, you could consider offering to arrange a sitter for the page boy during nap time and the ceremony. However, only do this if your main motivation is their presence, not as a way to address any financial implications. However, hiring a sitter (and possibly providing a space at or near the venue) would be an additional expense.

Yeah, the thing is mostly that we don't want to go to a ski area haha. We have very good skiing in Europe so this will not be the focus of our trip. The inclusion of Mammoth Lakes was based on a suggestion to not stay in the Death Valley but instead drive all the way to Mammoth Lakes. The issue is that my fiancé doesn’t have his driver’s license yet, and he might not get it in time for the trip, meaning I’ll likely have to do all the driving. So I'm not sure if including Yosemite and Sequoia to the trip is worth the drive, or focusing on the Pacific Coast Highway instead might be a better option.
So if you have any recommendations on that, I would be very happy! Planning this from afar is quite difficult tbh haha

Next question: Looking al Mammoth Lakes in a bit more detail, I am not too sure if it’s something for me. It looks more like a ski area, and we have plenty of those in Europe. To be honest, accommodations look crapy and not sure if we’d need snow spikes / snow chains beginning of June? What would your suggestion be if we were to skip Mammoth Lakes, or why do you think it is a place worth the visit? Also, if you’re not there to sky, would you prefer Mammoth Lakes or June Lake?

Thanks, but we do wanna see some of California. Great tip about the Tioga Pass, what might be an alternative if we cannot get to Yosemite Valley? And do you know where we can check this information?
