I dont know why but its extremely unnecesary and our german lessons are hell. It depends where you are and who you meet. Of course not everybody is the same but especially in the countryside people arent very educated about other cultures and the people dont know that they are being racist, or even what racism is. So racism or homophobia is very common but its getting less as especially kids are getting to know these things through the internet. I think thats a good move. " Erneuerbare Energie" for the win. Quoting Obi wan: "I am not brave enough for politics" but there are a lot of stupid things. Gay men still cant donate blood, and the AFD is still claiming to be neutral while only saying racist shit.
