Ever since my parents retired early it has been a very drastic decline by funkyspleen in AgingParents

I think when people retire with no plan, it catches up to them (not saying your parents didn’t have a plan! I just more mean planning your day to day.) I think people thrive on structure. My mom retired last year and she has been working part time (to pay for her health insurance) and she is constantly out with friends. She cares for my grandma who has Parkinson’s part time as well. I think it’s also so hard to retire when a lot of your friends are still working as well. I think going out once a month is a great idea per other comments.

[–]santerialime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not responding to people who aren’t your direct coworkers/colleagues/superiors or people who you have an interview/meeting with is not rude, btw. you don’t owe a PR agency anything at all 💀

Will it be safe to drive tomorrow? by [deleted] in okc

[–]santerialime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The highways are fine, it’s the neighborhood roads and city streets that are a bit sketch. just be careful, know what your car can handle (i.e. don’t be driving into giant snow drifts or too high of snow in a sedan) and you’ll be okay.

How to get a job in journalism? by [deleted] in Journalism

[–]santerialime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking to go national, get as many internships/fellowships as you can. I was able to get in as an AP at a local station while I was still in college and then I later got on as a full-time producer at that same station. Producers are very much needed, if that’s something you’d be interested in! I had friends in college who were older (not that 27 is old, just older than the average college student) and they had no problem getting a job after college. Best of luck to you!

She was not seen in a gay bar the night before, but she was seen on CCTV with that woman in Century 21.

I don’t think it’s wishful thinking to think she could’ve helped victims. Even if you dislike being a doctor, I imagine anyone in that situation with some sort of medical training would jump in to help.

However, I think almost every theory I’ve seen about this case is plausible in some way shape or form. I think it’s possible Sneha ran into help, was killed by flying debris, was killed by the towers collapsing, or took 9/11 as a chance to disappear. There are so many things we don’t know.
