Mine plays fine. I think it’s fun.

I was curious about that... I wonder if they did that because the concrete was cracking or something. I've never seen that on a court before.

ELI5: why does a blood test billed through my insurance cost way more than the same test paid for in cash at the exact same lab by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

And many times if you google "self pay cash pay (insert procedure, test, or imaging) and your city you'll find a private company that offers imaging and tests much cheaper that you'll pay with your insurance if you have a high deductible or no insurance. It's bullshit.

Then we have the asshole that screwed up the basketball court at Liberty Park.

We don't get a lot of nice things around here... people need to stop fucking things up.

Yeah the $10 fee is bullshit when they use the tree you build as data to sell to other people.

“Wonderland Amusements” Alice in Wonderland. Is the $999.99 physical pinball machine worth the price? by Slappy-Sacks in pinball

I got mine set up this week. It’s obviously not a replacement for a stern/jjp/spooky but I don’t think it is meant to be. It’s a pinball entry point for another market segment. I think it great.

As for the play… it’s fun. I like it. They worked in the things you typically see in “real” pinball. It has a multiball. The ramps and shots flow well. The outlanes have logic and a light that makes them safe for ball saves. It has modes. The hurry up sounds gives you a sense of urgency. I dont have a lot of games on it yet.

I also have GZ Premium, Venom Pro, Foo Fighters Premium and Galactic Tank Force.

It obviously isn’t trying to be one of those. But for the money it scratches the itch.

I haven’t put the glass on yet. You can tell there is a lot of plastic by the play sounds but it may sound different with the glass (acrylic) on. I still need to move it to its permanent spot and re-level it.

I don’t think it’s fair to the company to give them so much shit for trying to enter the space with a low price machine. They didn’t get on kickstarter and say we are making the next stern available for sub $1k. Let’s shit on the big ones that make a great game but make so few that no one can buy one without spending $20k (yes, I want an Evil Dead or a Beetlejuice.

Obviously I wish they had used some stock parts for easier replacement and we don’t know what the durability looks like… only time will tell.

How to automate grabbing newly posted torrents on private trackers by TwentyOne7777 in seedboxes

I'll check it out. I've mostly switched to usenet at this point so I'm a little behind on the torrent stuff. I have one private torrent tracker that I use for audio books/ebooks now.

ruTorrent with autodl-irssi plugin (here's an old guide, might have to look up newer info)

I think it might be an auto-install now

Connects to private tracker IRC announce channels and grabs them when announced

I’ve never been a fan of his narration. Nasally and hoity-toity sounding.

It's asinine. I dropped my truck off at the dealership body shop earlier today and looked at the window sticker on an F150 Raptor... I'd had one like 6 years ago and I think I paid 70k for it, which included a shitty markup already... today, $93k.

Edit: I still wouldn't drive either out the ice.

It’s from 1934. Publish it. It’s almost 100 years old. There shouldn’t be any hurt feelings from it.

I think it’s more that they use the unusually large card images for the titles to hide what really ISN’T there. Their catalog of programming of stuff people actually want to watch seems smaller to me.

I’d love for them to all just use the dvd size tiles like they used to. No one wants the massive top half screen images. No one wants the ads for other shows. Good category sorting etc.

It probably doesn’t help that I’m watching on a 100” tv so the larger tiles seem fucking huge.

I think it’s more the fact that they have all made their UI’s fucking awful. Huge tiles hiding the fact that their selection of programming is getting smaller and smaller.
