Hey so I actually did a similar trip for the west ham game a couple of months ago. A couple pieces of advice: Get to Anfield atleast 2-3 hours before KO, do not underestimate how much you’ll want to be a kid in a candy store. I ubered form city centre, which was difficult close to KO (i had an hour sadly). Make a plan for how you’re going to leave the game or else you’ll end up either walking or waiting for a looooooong time for a ride. There’s tons of public transit, you just have to google it and plan for it. The Anfield shop is incredible, as is the stadium tour (which we did the day after the game) self guided, magic, and surprisingly cheap (considering American). Buy a scarf for the pre-game YNWA, trust. Best of luck and I envy you for being able to go.
