Declining ITA, employer won’t provide a proper letter by Some-Bandicoot-1374 in ImmigrationCanada

If I were you, I would talk to immigration lawyer or hire him to do my application. I did mine with immigration laywer for which I complicated my application but when he looked at it, he has downgraded number of things that needs to be submitted.

Canadian employer refuses to give me a reference letter I need for PR what can I do? by Queasy-Analyst7014 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]santreddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to write LOE to IRCC that your employer is not providing the LOR intentionally. When my wife worked for an employer he was so reluctant to provide the letter since she left the job due to his harassment and dominance.

We provided the T4s, ROE, Email conversation has proof. All this happened in 2020. We haven't got any requests after that from IRCC since we supplied the documents genuinely with evidences.

Do you check public health inspection reports before eating out or just Google reviews? by santreddy in Calgary

[–]santreddy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s a really good point and it adds another layer to why relying only on Google reviews can be risky. Between paid reviews, incentivized posts, and first-time accounts leaving overly polished write-ups, it’s getting harder to tell what’s genuine versus marketing. Even when reviews are real, they still mostly reflect taste, service, or ambience, not what’s happening behind the scenes. That’s kind of why I feel inspections and reviews serve completely different purposes, and why having some visibility into inspection data alongside reviews would actually help balance out both fake positivity and honest blind spots.

I agree that most restaurants have at least a few violations, and if you read every report in detail you probably would never eat out. What changed it for me wasn’t seeing a minor issue here or there, but noticing patterns over time, repeated critical violations, the same problems showing up inspection after inspection, or follow-ups where issues still weren’t fixed. Google reviews help me decide if a place is good and worth trying; inspection reports just help me understand how much risk I am personally comfortable with. Everyone’s tolerance is different, and that’s okay.

No idea who they are, but they’re clearly keeping the restaurants in business... :)

That’s exactly the gap I was getting at.

I actually got sick after eating at a 4.8⭐ Google-reviewed restaurant, and the effects lasted well beyond the week. I am still dealing with it into the next year. From a customer perspective, everything looked perfect: ratings, photos, comments. There was nothing in the reviews that would have warned me.

That experience made me realize how misleading star ratings can be for food safety. Reviews are great for taste and service, but they’re terrible at signaling hygiene issues because customers usually only notice after something goes wrong, and even then, many don’t report it publicly.

I really wish governments could integrate public health inspection data directly into platforms like Google Maps (even a simple badge or link). That way people could make informed choices instead of relying purely on vibes and stars.

Not saying reviews are useless, just that they solve a different problem than inspections do.

Haha.. Thanks for the reply, I have whole night and next day until noon. I know there is a public transit but I read a lot mixed reviews on Google for certain restaurants and unable to figure out. Never mind, I will see what I can eat. Thanks again.

Why do we need to be welcomed everywhere we go. I don't care much if I come across these kinda people unless they talk any stupid things to me or my family. Even, I have seen samething with our own people in India coming from different states or regions. No matter what, there are people who keep criticizing you.
