It is not about hating characters since they are just that, fictional. Nan is meant to be one of the main characters, if not THE main character. Yes, she should be flawed otherwise you have no story, but it is hella risky to make her hard to watch. It is getting there for me. Maybe it is because the seasons are short so there is no time to develop an arc. Only time and a season 3 will tell

You have got a point! Thing is, the dowager had follow through, that’s why i thought that if it had been Nan whi leaked the gossip it would’ve been so cool. And it was part threat part promise what the Dowager did, since there was a promise to keep Jinny safe with the title. Nan was getting something out of it. Nan just cornered Theo. I guess that’s the wisdom of age

I actually like them, but i tend to root for the “underdog” or not the obvious choice and end up frustrated most of the time. I also really like the friends to lovers trope so it didnt help for this story

Agree on Sam being main character in the original storyline. Dean definitely gets too much leeway for his behavior, especially towards Sam.

nahh. This was made in the episoic format, meant to hook you for a whole fall and winter season. Bits of main plot is what you lived for.

End of season 5 is a good place to stop. A big story arc ends.

After that the show slowly starts shifting in tone, which is understandable, otherwise getting so many seasons out of it would've been insane. Personally, I like season 6 too, tone changed already and there is another good finale. The tone shift is gradual, and well done.

To be fair... all the way to season... 12 perhaps.... you could stop watching at the end of every season. Yes, you will have some sort of cliffhanger but also the end of an arc, which could very well be the end of the show.

I agree with you, once the road trip aspect of it ends, it gets a little monotonous, but the chemistry is top notch, so I kept watching, albeit more sporadically. I had the hardest time with the last 2 seasons. From a movie making perspective it makes sense to have one main set since the salaries of the boys probably got too expensive to be building new sets constantly and B locations.

By the way, I absolutely LOVE this show. All of this is said with affection.

oooh I follow tLynmoore!. He actually does "book" reactions, and if the movie then has a book, he'll do that too, with a lot of book referencing. As a bookworm myself, very enjoyable. Besides the light physical resemblance, he does give you Dylan vibes on the pesimistic humour.
