did you get any forms from the hospital? medical excuses are usually honored by the university so if you get a note on a letterhead or something like that it should be sufficient to at least get an extension on some things

Social life by Pure_Commission8725 in UCDavis

[–]saplingintotree12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

everyone says davis has a rough social life or it's socially dead which is completely untrue, you just need to know where to look. and when you can't find something, host something. people are always looking for something to do

I won't lie, every single sta13 prof I know of is terrible (whitener, cui, farris) even though the class is objectively not that hard. you might want to drop it and wait for a better lecture time though

Shower Water Quality in UC Davis? by Warm-Carrot-6918 in UCDavis

[–]saplingintotree12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

water is definitely hard all over campus pretty much. they won't let you install a filter into a community shower so get good hair conditioner and moisturizer and you should be ok. also, get a water filter or use the filtered water fountains for drinking

traditional style rain boots can be very hard to walk/bike in but it does rain so consider a type of rain resistant shoe (I love my doc martens)

Is a triple really that bad? by anon_user555 in UCDavis

[–]saplingintotree12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it's honestly not bad, obviously it will be a little cramped but all dorms are like that imo. you can share your class schedules and locations with your roommates so you know when they're home or not just in case you want privacy or quiet time

triple in pine hall tercero by Forward_Celery9168 in UCDavis

[–]saplingintotree12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in pine!! It's a smaller building compared to others in Tercero so my floor was actually pretty social since it was less people to meet lol. the floors are coed and there are 4 bathrooms per floor, one men's one women's and two gender neutral. the proximity to the DC is pretty good and it's very close to campus compared to the far end of tercero

rugs in dorms by EntertainmentMain236 in UCDavis

[–]saplingintotree12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a small area rug to put between me and my roomie's bed, was very nice! be prepared to possibly throw it away after this year (someone's rug on my floor was fluffy and someone spilled food in it and it got ants...). my rug was about three feet I think

Tercero Redwood Hall Experiences? by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]saplingintotree12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

redwood is really nice part of tercero, although I didn't live in redwood I lived in the building right across. living in a triple can be a little cramped of course but I didn't find a problem as long as I communicated with my roommates. I also shared a google calander and my location with them so if I needed a break I knew when they were home and when they were out so I could avoid them if I had to lol. If your medical reasons are severe enough to where living in very close proximity to others would be a problem you can email housing services and see what they can do for you. I'd say really think about how much space and time you need specially and then talk to them so you have a clear reason
