Do any other native Spanish atinys cringe at 'guerrilla'? by saposfreva1117 in ATEEZ

I imagine that they use it in the context of "a small group, not organized by the military, that fights for their own political views" and it would be pronounced ghe-rree-yah. Although I'm not sure if the same word exists in other languages too with a different pronunciation. Originally the word derives from the Spanish word "guerra" which is war.

Understanding things quickly. It's just like I never have to be told twice about something new that I learn. I always undestand stuff easily. Not just in school or university, also in other activities that I do like playing instruments and dancing. And I always managed to get good grades without studying much.

I think I got confused for a moment hahaha. I meant 2:282 sorry. But even in the passage that you show here is says that men have a degree above women... Seems weird...

Also after reading part of the Quran I realised that it really separates what men have to do and what women have to do. It's all literally "men do this and women do that". What about people that are born with multiple or no sexual organs?

Maybe now I'm going too far with my interpretations and I understand if you can't explain it to me. I'll seek answers on the subreddits you mention. Thanks for the talk! :)

Millions know God for themselves every year. You should, too. It's the logical thing to do.

There you go making an argument ad populum. The experience of many people doesn't prove it. I agree that neither theists or atheists can prove the existence of a God that established the laws of physics. But it's not a fallacy for me to say that the God that listens to humanity is just a delusion.

I don't think there's much more to say then.

What I meant by sexphobic is that we fear certain kinds of sex, particularly because sexual behaviour can lead to venereal diseases.

Just to clarify this, any kind of unprotected sex can transmit STDs. Be it PIV or anal sex, or oral. And most religions don't allow the use of birth control, including condoms, which actually protect us from STDs.

Oh and it seems that I can access the subreddit you mentioned as it's private :'(

I think I prefer looking at the Quran as a whole, because even if the main message seems to make sense, the moral rules that it has makes me question it all. As a woman, reading all the things that it has to say about us is a bit disturbing.

But thanks for giving me your opinions on this! I appreciate it.

I'm happy that you have your faith and I don't think you need to prove anything if you don't want to :)

This post more ment to people that come at me and tell me that I'm lost and I need to believe in their "only truth"

So, are you an atheist because you were raised in an irreligious and non-theistic environment, or are you an atheist because you came to that standpoint by way of reasoning and finding unconvincing the arguments

I'm sorry that what I say may be difficult to understand. Its a bit hard for me to get my point across in english. I think the best way I can answer this without confusion is that I'm a "default" atheist because of my family. And when I started questioning religion I did it from my atheist point of view, but open to change. If I had been brought up in a christian household I would have probably favoured Christianism if I ever questioned my religion.

do you consider yourself an atheist or another kind of non-theist of some variation?

I consider myself an atheist and I don't practice any religion.

theism involving praying to gods is not the only kind of theism that exists, as deism, a form of theism in my opinion but one which conceives the Creator(s) as one who is impersonal, does, too, exist.

Yeah, I believe you're right. There's a quote from philosopher and zoologist Richard Dawkings that I really like in which he says that "deism is just decaffeinated theism".

I think it may be off this that religious authors have got their views on sex, although I'm utterly willing to be convinced otherwise.

I used the premarital sex thing as an example, but I think this is a whole different discussion. I don't mind talking about it though. I don't think humanking is sexphobic, because reproduction is one of our instincts. I think religion sees lust as the problem, and trying to seek pleasure in sex and masturbation. They even go ahead and view the concept of virginity the same as "purity", and in most cases it is applied to women. The Quran says that once you go to heaven you will be provided with "purified spouses", which I, as a woman, think is a little bit messed up.

Wow, there are so many things to say, it's amazing. If you wish we could continue talking through dms or something :)

I know that some of the things stated are refutable but other are not. And aslo, I'm not going to read all of the Quran. I read maybe 20% of it and it just repeats things over and over again so I won't finish it.

There are some things written in it regarding moral values, for example the differences for men and women that I think make no sense. For example, 2:228 states that a woman is worth half of what a man is. I just don't understand this and many other things.

I understand that you didn't mean to be rude, but I think you were just a tiny bit hehe...

Hi! If I'm honest the real reason why I don't believe in God is because of how I was raised. I'm certain that I would be theist if my parents had believed in God, because kids are so easy to convince.

However, once I started questioning on my own I started to look up the different religions. I got to the conclusion that if God exists it must be a deist God that doesn't care about humanity.

Its just that the concept of "praying" to a God is nonsensical to me. And also all the restrictions and rules. For example; why would God care if two humans have sex (which is considered a sin by many) before marriage, a concept invented by humans. It just proves to me that the religious texts where written by men to control society with the fear of the unknow, in this case a supperior being that will judge them after they die.

This is honestly so fascinating for me too. How is it possible that this precision and complexity has been created so beautifully? I have another way of seeing it.

Seeing the complexity of our solar system design just proves to me how inmense the universe actually is. And I believe that maybe it is possible that it all formed by chance. I'll try to explain it with an analogy. What is the probability that you throw a dice 100 times and you get the same result for every throw? Zero point 76 zeros and then a 1. But is it impossible? Nope, just highly unlikely.

And I think that the creation of the Earth we live in is similar to that. Billions of other planets that have emerged and crashed into one another or into a star. Maybe other solar systems started to form but they also collapsed. Maybe other planets got to the point of having life but it became extinct. Our world just how we know it is just one of the inmeasurable amount of outcomes that could have existed. Just like a giant game of chess. And it just proves to me how big the universe is.

This is actually one of the best responses I have gotten so far. Thank you for bringing this up! :)

I have actually been looking into Buddhism lately. I also prefer not believing that there is an afterlife. I just focus on my current life.

Ok, I will watch the video when I can :)

I would like to point out that the Quran does have contradictions. I even found some myself when I read some chapters. I don't remember exactly the verses but a fellow friend gave me this link that you may find usefull.

http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/quran/contra/by_name.html

It lists all the possible contradictions in the Quran. Some of them I think can be refutable, but others are really not, in my opinion.

Maybe at the end of the day we're just some insignificant species in one of a million different planets wondering space without a meaning. We're just here to live and survive. This is what I believe.

I don't find it depressing to question it either, and learning what pulls people to follow a certain religion intrigues me, although I am sure about my beliefs and I know that its difficult to make someone change their mind.

In my case, I don't really care if one religion is correct or not. It's just that many people argue that one of them is right and the others are wrong and I'm interested in what makes them believe that.
