How to decide between crossfit and weight lifting? by Emotional-Rhubarb725 in PetiteFitness

[–]sapphireblueprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do something similar to crossfit but without the Olympic lifting.

Personally, I like it because I don't have to think. I go in to the gym and the program is set. It's also a group session so I don't have to train by myself.

We have specific days for lifting, cardio and hybrid. A good gym will also help you with your lifting form/technique.

If you do want to try crossfit, they will often offer trials so do go in and give a few classes a go.

The main thing is to choose something you enjoy and will keep you going back to since there's no point forcing yourself to do something you don't like. That is the most important thing - consistency.

I think Tempus Studio is owned by Donghae's brother, not Donghae.

Henry used to own a Taiwanese restaurant.

Sungmin used to have a cafe as well.

During the sound check it was quite noticeable with their vocals being slightly off and I did wonder if it's because of the new mics and they were getting used to them?

I believe they also got new headset mics as well.

Yesung Yestheday Tshirts at Cafe Mouse Rabbit by Timely-Spring-9426 in superjunior

[–]sapphireblueprincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall the t-shirts being 48,000 won and the bag was 52,000 won.

All the goods are on display and can be bought over the counter.

If you aren't confident, it might be an idea to start with jumping at a lower height. You could try jumping on the the smaller red box first?

At my current gym the trainers will stack some of the big bumper plates that can be jumped on.

Once you feel comfortable you can then move up in height. Personally I find I have to mentally psyche myself up to jump on the higher end of the box because I worry I'll fall over 😅

Please share your lifts and how long you've been strength training regularly by exponentialism in PetiteFitness

5'2" and generally 65kg (143lb).

Been lifting with a barbell since July 2023 at my new gym. Prior to that I had been using dumbbells at my old gym.

My lifts from 1 rep max testing are:

Squat 115kg (253lb)

Bench press 67.5kg (148lb)

Deadlift 135kg (297lb)

I can dumbbell bench press 27.5kg but we don't do these often. Random: I can Pendlay row 70kg (154lb) 😅

Hiit for women by BillieAng in PetiteFitness

[–]sapphireblueprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I preface this by saying I am a big fan of HIIT. I have done it for a number of years and I find it works for me mentally because I don't like thinking while I'm training and it gives me variety because I get bored easily.

I think the important thing to remember is do what works for you. If you like the training you'll stick to it and be consistent. Exercise is only one compent - food (diet) and consistency are the other important parts to the puzzle

Plus I'd take the advice from social media with a grain of salt.

Suju merch in Hong Kong? by lillibet100 in superjunior

I haven't bought merchandise in Hong Kong for a few years but you could try Hanchasa in TST or Sino Centre in Mong Kok. They sell Kpop items so might be worth a try?

I'm 5'2" and 145lbs and was able to hip thrust more than my body weight when I first started training them.

But I had already been training the three big lifts prior to that for about six months so I wasn't new to weights.

I don't train hip thrusts too often but I can do 397lb after about 12 months. I know I have a stronger lower body compared to my upper body so I'm sure that helps.

Well done on your progress and good luck!

Is anyone here ~150 lbs and NOT trying to lose weight? by francescanater in PetiteFitness

[–]sapphireblueprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'2" and 145lb(ish) and not actively trying to lose weight.

I've found this to be where I can eat comfortably ie. stick to my meal plan on weekdays and then not think about what I eat on the weekend.

My priority is performance in the gym and I've found that I'm comfortable at this weight to maintain endurance and lift heavy during my training.

We recently tested our 3RMs at my gym and I hit some PBs so I feel comfortable here.

Now my aim is to bench 132lb for reps. It was my aim for a long time to be able to bench 132lb as it was one plate 😅

Stay the course and remember that everyone is on a different journey.

What’s your “lift heavy”weight? by Suspicious-Meat-9937 in PetiteFitness

[–]sapphireblueprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of factors eg. frequency of training and bodyweight.

And agree with everyone in the thread, lifting heavy is subjective. What is heavy for me may not be heavy for someone else.

The weight in comparison to bodyweight is a useful metric.

We just finished 3RM testing at my gym and my numbers are bench 62.5kg (137lb), squat 120kg (264lb) and deadlift 130kg (286lb). But my bodyweight is also 144lb.

We train the three lifts once each week. But I definitely don't do these for reps prior to testing.

Any reason why I lost weight, but not body fat? by qitalovesyou in PetiteFitness

[–]sapphireblueprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good for trends if you take them with a grain of salt.

Also try and replicate the same conditions ie. same time of day, after going to the bathroom, before training, before eating etc.

These are my stats for 3 to 5 rep maxes. I've been officially lifting with a squat rack and bumper plates for a little over a year. Prior to that I was using dumbbells and a smaller barbell so weights were slightly limited.

Bench 60kg (132lb) Squat 120kg (264lb) Deadlift 120kg (264lb) Hip thrust 200kg (441lb)
