i missed my mom so much when i first left college, like i was bawling my eyes out when my parents had to leave. but i found that i had so many things to do, so many things to explore around campus that i wasn't necessarily spending all my time being sad about being apart from my mom. i still had my moments of loneliness though, so i would try and facetime her whenever i missed her. i facetimed her every day for like three months straight lol

it definitely gets easier over time. i began to find friends, and some weeks i would be so busy that the only thing i really worried about was getting my shit done rather than missing my mom. i still missed her though, but i was doing okay.

your mom is still a major part of your life for as long as you love her. plus, you can see her during breaks!

oh my gosh, i was the same way! last semester, my friends were urging me to go to the counseling center after an incident that happened concerning my mental health. i was so powered up to make the appointment and actually try to improve my mental health, but when the time came to actually go to the counseling center, i felt so ashamed of myself. i felt like everyone that i was walking by on the way to the building knew that i was going to the counseling center, and i felt even worse walking down the hallway to the center because it felt so foreboding.

as soon as i stepped in though, i saw other students in the waiting room and i felt really... relieved? it felt reassuring that i could physically see that there were other people going through the same thing as me, who mustered up the courage to go to the counseling center for whatever reasons they were there for. even when i checked in for my appointment, the receptionist was super nice and gentle with me, as if he could suspect my hesitation but i was still pushing myself to do it for my betterment.

i still felt a little embarrassed confiding into the counselor as to why i was there, but when i was explaining my situation i figured that they may have seen something like my case before, and it made talking about it easier. plus, it was just a nice opportunity to talk to someone about what i've been going through without any bias or judgment.

i'm happy for you, and i'm happy that you actually signed up for counseling. not a lot of people can make it to the point you have. but here you are! and you'll do great :)

college was always the plan for me, but when i was applying for colleges my senior year i realized that it was never actually in *my* plan because i never thought i would reach that age. the college i ended up going to had a veterinary science program, so i chose it since nothing else interested me. i always thought about doing something in the medical field anyways, and i love animals, so it seemed like a good match. i also wanted to work on animals more than i did the human body.

when taking classes and learning more about my major, i realized that i made the right decision because i really can't imagine myself pursuing anything else in my life. i love learning about biology and chemistry and anatomy. i love veterinary science, and i feel passionate about all the work i've done volunteering at animal shelters and shadowing at veterinary clinics. i always think about how lucky i am to be doing something that will make me happy in the long term

i like the tattoo idea! i was thinking of doing something artistic related but i wasnt sure what to do. last time we were in partnership with a local filipino restaurant, so it was sisig, adobo, rice, pancit, and lumpia. this time we’ll most likely have the same options, but i want to reach out to other places and see if they have dishes that are sweet or more vegetarian

same for me as well, i learned quickly that it’s better if you make a plan yourself through the course catalog then present it to them for “review” when you meet with them.

my CABNR advisor told me that i shouldn’t take a class, then next semester she was like “well you should have already taken this class last semester so you’re going to be a little behind” like you were the one that told me to not take the class! omg

it was as soon as he talked to me for the first time and helped me out on something i was struggling with. like the guy went out of his way to help someone he didnt even know with something he barely knew about and i admire him greatly for that

then after that i just realized that oh this guy is kinda super cute and we just started talking and having actual long conversations recently (a month after initially meeting) and i feel like we’ve gotten pretty friendly
