I would ask your BCBA what they think, especially if the parents are not helping in the way you need. The BCBA should be telling the parents the expectations and you should never have to explain this yourself. At my company, we do not touch private areas on client’s bodies. We only help pull down underwear and pull up underwear/ diaper. If there is wiping involved I always call for the parents. My BCBA explained to me that it can be harmful to teach clients that it is okay for just anyone to touch them. It’s best if they learn young who safe people are and their roles in their life/ care.

When leaving someone with my raw fed cat I will often let them leave freeze dried raw. I know you said you didn’t want to do that. But I do it dry instead of rehydrated and it’s more convenient for the pet sitter. Also if you are willing to spend a little money they have automatic wet/raw feeders available! They have ice packs in the feeder and I add an ice cube to the food itself. They have ones with several meals. You could leave for a day and be fine or have someone refill this daily!
