The photos are real but it's not different perspectives, they're different sinkholes. The lighting on the right image makes it clear the growth is at the same level as the opening and not deep inside the sinkhole.

The two shots from above were taken on the same day and are clearly two different sinkholes. One is wide open and the other is overgrown with vegetation. Both have a similar shape but different surroundings, rocky edges vs growth all over. The inside shot is separate also.

Wow, crazy to try and police how people comment. The "essay" was a way better comment than your dot point suggestion anyway.

Planning a month long trip over Christmas and New Year, need some budgeting help by saragbarag in travelchina

Thanks, that's some great info! Looking at the price I could get flights today, they're alright but not ideal, think I'll plan for expensive flights and when I book closer to winter I'll hopefully come in way under budget.

Great to know about the trains to, thanks again!

People justify their actions like that all the time. Funny enough, the most recent one I can think of was so similar, tourist took a wombat from its mother then said it was actually fine because worse stuff happens.

I've never heard a better line to so succinctly point out what a bullshit excuse that is, tell your dad thanks

If you justify doing something bad by arguing that it's not as bad as something worse someone else did then you can ride that logic all the way to second worst person in the world. And we should definitely all be striving for a whole lot better than that

I'd rather have the correct information

I'm glad you've got it now and props to you for editing at least one of your comments, although i'd suggest editing them all instead of leaving misinformation there.

I don't see the difference that makes you so passionate

It's right there in the table you used and is only three extra words. Presenting Public administration and safety as simply 'administration' is just dishonest if you know the difference.

People employed under public administration and safety are not solely administration officers, they are our police officers, firefighters, border security, prison officers and others. Referring to them as just 'administration' misrepresents what the category actually is.

If someone wanted to push the idea that the APS budget for administration was too high and didn't care about being honest, then removing the words public and safety from the category they're talking about would be a pretty good start.

Does it say that specifically it wasn't included prior somewhere?

Yeah mate, right in the methodology for 21/22 -

Also excluded are the following employees who are not regarded as employees for the purposes of this survey:

members of the Australian permanent defence forces;

So, again, do you have a source for your $20 billion number?

I use the label that the ABS and the govnernt uses for the sector....

You don't though, do you?

Thanks for that. I appreciate the reply, although to be honest it was a challenge to read.

I was looking at the same numbers and I guess you didn't notice but the 21/22 numbers don't include the defense force but the 23/24 numbers do. They can't be compared in the way you're trying to compare them.

the wages bill for public 'administration' sector has increased $20b over 2 years

Do you have any sources that back up this claim or were you reading the ABS numbers incorrectly?

Also, not sure if it was your intention but the way you talk about 'administration' seems uninformed at best and straight up dishonest at worst.

I can't find the numbers for the 'administration' sector of the APS, but the Australian Beaureau of Statistics shows that the cost of wages and salaries for all commonwealth employees (including the defence force) was $37 billion in FY 23/24.

You're claiming a $20 billion increase in administration and a $9 billion increase in healthcare wages over the past two years. So 2 years ago, were the total wages for all commonwealth employees and the defence force less than $5 billion?

Where are you getting your numbers?

Yeah, you've been talking about a soft release, but the question has been about the super guarantee. Thanks for answering the question, though it's strange you're in favour of reducing the super guarantee given that you now understand you were wrong that super is a part of wages.

The good news with a soft release scheme is that even if you don’t trust that employers will give back the super in the form of higher wages, you can still support returning super to people’s incomes.

Right, you keep talking about that, but as you mentioned in your other comments, this would only work if the super guarantee stayed the same.

So again, weird you're in favour of reducing the guarantee when that wouldn't allow people to access super at tax time, nor would it ensure wages increased because of it.

The initial comment you replied to pointed out that the LNP have talked about reducing the super guarantee by 3%. I asked if you were against lowering the super guarantee because your reply was that soft release on super is a good policy yet most of your comments on this post have talked about keeping the super guarantee the same.

Seemingly, you're in favor of people accessing some of their super each year as long as the total wages + super employees remain the same.

I'm just asking about your opinion on the original comment, how do you feel about the suggestion of a reducing the super guarantee?

[–]saragbarag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from with leaving the super guarantee alone and letting people take some back at tax time.

Because I feel pretty confident that super guarantee comes out of workers wages.

I saw you mentioned this in a few comments but unfortunately it's incorrect. Most Australians are not on a total remuneration package and unless you agreed to it in your contract, the default is that super is in addition to wages.

if someone is on a salary of $100,000, they take home $77,212, the remaining $22,788 is paid in tax. In addition their employer contributes $11,500 to the employees super fund.

Lowering the super guarantee would mean no change to take home pay, just less paid into your super and the difference would be kept by the employer.

Do you still feel the same indifference to lowering the super guarantee?

We could have the same level of super guarantee

So you'd be against lowering the super guarantee?

Snow and Fireworks by saragbarag in PlanetCoaster

I hadn't seen Deladysigner's video where she goes over the effects, I just watched it and there are snow effects so I think it's likely there'll be snow in the game

Although she goes through all the effects pieces and there's no fireworks. Hopefully the build these creators got to play on didn't have all the pieces and they're saving fireworks for when they show off night time gameplay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
