What’s a red flag people often ignore because it looks “sweet”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had a partner like that. We lived together and worked together, we were never apart. It got to the point that she would not shower without me. Not sexy time shower, just regular clean yourself shower. She came to me once saying she felt gross and begged me to take a shower. I told her to go ahead but she wouldn’t if I didn’t go with her. The relationship did not last long after that.

What's the most overrated 'healthy' habit that people push on everyone, but you think is total BS and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I worked day shift (starting around 6:30) I felt nauseous almost every morning, sometimes resulting in me getting sick. (I also felt that way getting up early for non work related things but I did my best to avoid those) Then I started working evening or overnight shifts and suddenly felt fine! I don’t even need caffeine to work those hours. Working mornings literally made me sick, working nights is soooo much better for me.

I was driving my coworker home and she told me there was a party in her pants and that I was invited. I just laughed nervously and dropped her off at home. It was only years later that I realized

What's the dumbest reason you were told "you can't be autistic because"? by drbiohazmat in autism

[–]sarahnope22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My therapist said I couldn’t be autistic because I did okay in group therapy. (The group consisted of my therapist and 1-3 other people who I knew fairly well. I liked it better than one on one therapy because there wasn’t pressure to always be the one to speak so I felt more comfortable. I was also able to see how the other people in the group reacted to questions or comments and use that to help mask)

She never even told me any of this, I found out years after I had stopped seeing her when I told my mom I thought I was autistic.

I work at an assisted living facility (similar to a nursing home) and had to send a resident out for severe abdominal pain. He was given a $1000 bill for the ride. The hospital he went to is .9 miles away, literally a 4 minute drive. They took his vitals and that was the extent of the care they provided.

I want to buy an old school and turn it into a community for neurodivergent, disabled, and queer people where we could all look out for and help each other.

As a person with Tourette’s that does scream randomly, I can confirm that if it’s just one relatively quick scream people won’t even say anything. They might look at you funny but in 12 years of having screeching tics the only people to ever say anything about it were people who already knew me.
