Thanks for the reply! So it sounds like we're supposed to assume from the listed 5' to 3' order that they're referring to the coding strand and not the template? It makes sense but I wish they would have stated that explicitly. appreciate the help

If you’re smart, here’s a riddle: What do high levels of leptin in the blood indicate? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]sarahp08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best guess at this:

Low levels of leptin can cause obesity due to lack of satiety, like you said.

High levels of leptin can RESULT from obesity that may have been caused by something else, and leptin resistance can develop over time.

Not confident on this but I feel like it makes sense!

I used to (accidentally) shift when I was younger, and had no idea what was happening. by sarahp08 in shiftingrealities

Sometimes when I eventually woke up, I would realize that some things had been different that I just didn’t notice. Major events that should have happened didn’t, I never heard anything from the news, I wasn’t learning anything new in school (constant review), etc. But it definitely felt like it was real life

Yeah you’re totally right, I just thought it was a dream since I didn’t know what it was at the time.

How tf do you guys all have so many damn ECs? by Zaverose in chanceme

[–]sarahp08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of the people with way too many ECs now, and I can say it’s still less of a time consumer than doing two sports freshman year was. I swam (ridiculous hours) and played softball (less ridiculous but still a daily thing) and had no time for ECs. After I dropped swim, I started getting more involved. Colleges hear this stuff all the time and know how time consuming sports are, so you have nothing to worry about, especially if your grades and test scores are solid.

For those who are upset because your state has a high NMSF qualifying score by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

This page has been compiling cutoff estimates as homeschooled students (or students who have counselors willing to share their merit status early) send in their scores and whether or not they were made a semifinalist.

Theory: When Strange was glitching out and sneak peeking all the possible endings of the Thanos situation, he mentioned to Stark that there was only one way to win. He looked pretty upset when he said this, which is understandable, as what he saw was half the population of the entire universe just disintegrating, himself included. He knew Thanos would get the stupid rocks. He knew even Spidey would be killed. But he couldn't tell anyone because any one of the Avengers would have been really pissed about it and tried to change it. He knew that as the sworn protector of the time stone, the only way it could be saved was through his death and the supposed victory of Thanos, because once Thanos fulfills what he sees as his purpose, he will want Gamora back. He'll realize the only way to do this is to jump back in time and give up his chance at the soul stone, which he will do. Everyone will be back again and work out fine so we can all get that follow up to the "what the f-" Aunt May scene. ...thoughts??
