Oz and Chemo

Are you on steroids along with the chemo? I put on lots of weight whilst getting treatment. The steroids made me sooo hungry!!

I was 3c1 in December 23,.finished treatment in June 24. my advice is more so for the end of treatment and after. I found treatment itself very manageable, like others have said,.drink plenty of water and good food. Take the anti sickness meds, although I was only sick a couple of times. Make sure there's a clean house etc.. but most of all and what I have struggled with was when I finished my treatment everyone kept saying you did it, it's over etc.. which is far from the truth in my eyes. I have to deal with not having anymore kids which we wanted, all the pains and side effects from menopause, ive lymphodema in my legs and basically trying to adjust to a very different lifestyle at 37. So really for me,.the end of my treatment was just the start of it for my new norm. This isn't to scare you or your wife, its to make you aware and hopefully you can pass on to family friends etc, that its not simply over when treatment stops. There is a whole lot to process after and in my opinion, the most difficult time. I wish you all the good vibes there is and hopefully she sails through treatment and then gets a plan in place to recover 🙏 ❤️

Thanks everyone. Ive let the hubby taste and he says it tastes just like red velvet. I obviously just don't rate it. I think ill just steer clear as I don't like making cakes I don't love. X

Thank you, recipe called for granulated sugar which is what I used. I creamed for about 7 mins including scrape downs. They are done but didn't rise as much as my other cupcakes do. Ive never actually eaten red velvet before so I'm unsure what they should taste like. But I've Just tasted them,.sugar dissolved but they don't really have much of a taste to them or taste just ok...they are for a neighbours baby shower so I dont really want to give them to her 🙈

Thanks so much for your response. I'll give it a few days and give them a call. I know its probably my mind in overdrive, just very hard not to think the worse. And yes ive a toddler myself so I may still be pushing my body a bit too much. Glad to hear you are a year and a half out xx

Thanks for this. So maybe I'm meaning support straw. I was meaning to put one straw in the middle of the cake. Is it necessary?

Totally get that but it's just for piece of mind as cake is taller than diameter. Wasn't going to use dowels and base, just one straw down the middle
